COME PLAY FOR THE BEST MAKE AN IMPACT!!!!
Our mission is to provide opportunities and exposure while competing at the highest level of fastpitch softball available while instilling discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and honesty. Sudden Impact teaches their players to respect the game, work hard and to play the game the right way.
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.
Remember That You're A Teammate and Not The Team!
Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. But attitude determines how well you do it.
SUCCESS
To us, success is made up of many things. Two of these are truth and the real meaning of athletics. As we know all too well, very few athletes go on to greater rewards in the sports arena. When they leave to go about their daily lives, they need tools to guide them, tools that will follow them through the rest of their lives. What they take from the athletic arena most often is directly related to what we, as coaches, have given them during our brief association.
Winning games seems to be the sole measure of success for many people. However, our definition of success is not confined to “the final victory.” For if it were, there would be an enormous number of unsuccessful teams since there is only one winner at the final moment of truth.
Do we believe that losing games mean that Sudden Impact is an unsuccessful team? No,not at all. Sudden Impact will never give in to defeat. We will fight the battle hard to the very end. We can best compare SUDDEN IMPACT to Champions. Champions know how to handle losing better than the average competitor. When and if we lose, we will not become distracted or demoralized. Instead, we will turn the loss to our advantage by learning from it. This is a valuable life lesson.
Parents, please remember that a loss does not define our athletes. Rather, it teaches them what not to do the next time around. We will continue to inspire our girls to never give up. It is this mental skill we wish to accomplish. For if they don’t give up, just keep trying, staying focused and challenging the obstacles, they will then execute the skills necessary to win games.
THINK LIKE A CHAMPION
Some champions are born and some champions are made. A champion may be someone who always places first in competition. A champion may be someone who comes out on top, overcomes obstacles and beats the odds. An amazing athlete is someone who performs at their personal best because of the amount of training they've endured, the sacrifices they've made and the focus they had to have to get where they are.
Champions think big. Champions work toward big goals. Champions are focused. Champions are disciplined. Champions think like champions. And the one thing that all champions have in common - they have the mind-set of a champion - they want to win, they want to be the BEST.
WHAT KIND OF PLAYERS ARE WE LOOKING FOR????
1) Players who understand from the beginning that hard work is the minimum expected of them, and not the maximum. Players who understand that there are few guarantees in life and that two are:
a) Success will not be easily achieved.
B) Players who are unwilling to give a total effort in practices are unlikely to give a greater effort once the games begin.
2) Players with a favorable attention span and the ability to listen and concentrate.
3) Players who can take criticism and acknowledge their mistakes without alibis, excuses, or blaming others.
4) Players who love the game.
5) Players who work hard
6) Players who enjoy competing - and winning.
7) Players who like - and more important, respect - their teammates and coaches.
8) Players who are loyal to their team, teammates and coaches.
9) Players who understand that good players show up for big games, but great players show up for every game.
10) Players who exhibit leadership qualities.
2) Players with a favorable attention span and the ability to listen and concentrate.
