Tigers Triumphant Again!
St. Thomas played host to visiting St. Rita's of Hamden. St. Rita's, the reigning GNHPAL Champions (the past two seasons), played a competitive game. The weather also made things competitive. Once it started raining, it never stopped. The rain was consistent throughout the game. The downpours didn't stop the Tigers though. Kim played another great game and scored the first goal of the game for St. Thomas. Bryan led the pace of the offense and Joey was a threat up top. Matt, impressed the coach by reading the field very well. Speaking of impressing, was Michael N who was a leader out on the field for the younger players. It's not always easy for the younger players, but Michael N was supportive of these players on the field, guiding them into their positions and talking to them.....making things a lot easier for them. The next goal, was an own goal, made by St. Rita's. The defense once again held the attack. Sean collected his second shut out of the season, with a final score of St. Thomas 2- St. Rita's 0. St. Thomas moves to 3-0 for the season. This was the the Tigers sixth consecutive league win, carried over from last season.

2011 Season Welcome-Important Information and Dates!
As the school year gets near, so does our soccer season. We will hold our first practice on Thursday, September 1st. Tryouts/evaluations will take place on Thursday, September 1st and Tuesday, September 6th. The starting and reserve teams will be announced on Tuesday evening, September 6th.
As games are scheduled, the calendar will be updated on this site. We will not have practice or games scheduled on half days or "no school" days.
Any student wishing to play for the St. Thomas must give Coach Shea a yellow card (no, not a soccer yellow card), obtained by the school nurse. This shows Coach Shea that all athletic medical requirements are being met. If the player shows up to practice without first providing the yellow card to Coach Shea, that player will not be allowed to participate. That player will be sent to the nurse/office to receive a card. If the card is not given because medical requirements have not been satisfied, then that player will need to call home for a ride. Players are not allowed to be on the field without the yellow card.
Additionally, it is imperative that all players meet academic requirements set forth by the school administration. Good grades come first! Respect is an absolute must at all times for players too. Respect for your teammates, respect for your coach, respect for you opponents, and respect for the officials.
If anyone has any questions about the soccer program, please contact Coach Shea directly at the following email address: mikenrose04@yahoo.com
