Alumni Help Farmingdale Win MCHC Former Strong Island players Matt Dolber and Joe Ree are members of the Farmingdale State College Ice Hockey Team. Both players contributed to the championship season just completed by Farmingdale! The team also won the regionals and finished 8th in the nation. Congratulations to Farmingdale and our players on your hard work and success!
Former Strong Island Player National Junior B Champ Nikolai Jurasits, a former Strong Island player, helped the Long Island Royals capture the Tier III Junior B Championship! Congratulations to Nick and all the Royals for their hard work and great success! Thursday, April 5 FORMER STRONG ISLAND GOALIE TURNS PRO! Lenni DiConstanzo, who played for Strong Island, was signed by the Pee Dee Cyclones of the Southern Professional Hockey League in February 2007. Lenny appeared in 16 games with 5 wins, 4 losses and 1 shutout. The shutout was the first for the franchise. Great job, Lenni; it shows what hard work and dedication can accomplish! Wednesday, April 2 Alumni Still Want To Play We have been asked many times about putting together an alumni team and we are ready. If you are interested in playing on a Strong Island Mavericks men's league team now is your time! We are willing to form a team that will compete in a local men's league with an eye on tournament play in the future. If you are interested, contact Coach Bruce at bkollmar@optonline.net. We are looking for 15 skaters and 2 goalies for the upcoming seasons. |
