Saturday, June 20th 2009! 8am racetime at the Brookfield Zoo
Stroller Strides for Wishes is an annual event focused on families with young children and stroller-aged children. Extended family members, friends, and competitive runners are also encouraged to take part in the event. You do not need a stroller or need to be a member of Stroller Strides to participate. This event will entertain and encourage fitness, while bringing awareness and funding to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
The 5K Stroller Run/Walk will take place throughout Brookfield Zoo passing countless exhibits, flower gardens and fountains. Participants, their families and supporters, and event volunteers will join together after the Stroller Run/Walk. Sponsor booths, balloon artist, prizes/give-a-ways, and refreshments will be provided, thanks to our generous donors. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
Dress your children and/or stroller up as a favorite zoo animal and qualify to win a BOB Jogging Stroller!
Prizes for Top Race Finishers (4 categories, male/female without stroller and male/female with stroller): 1st place - $75 Gift Certificate to Fleet Feet Sports, 2nd place - $50 Gift Certificate to Fleet Feet Sports
Other Great Raffle, Team and Fundraising Prizes: A new IPOD, (2) $150 gift certificates to Oak Brook Med Spa, Restaurant Gift Certiciates including Coopers Hawk and Twin Anchors, family membership to Nibbles Play Cafe, team prize from Roly Poly Sandwiches, gift basket from Babies R Us, and more!
Baseball Raffle Tickets for Sale at the Race, only $5 gets you a ticket: (4) tickets to the Cubs, (4)tickets to the White Sox plus parking, or (5) tickets to the White Sox plus parking. Excellent seats for all games!
Please note the following:
*Race will be timed for competitive runners.
*Race Packets will be available for pickup the morning of the event.
*We will have day of registration. Cash and Checks will be accepted. Exact change is appreciated!
*Those who wish to come to watch the event only can pay for zoo entry only at the Day of Event Registration table
*Those who wish to make donations outside of this website are encouraged to make checks out to Stroller Strides for Wishes and turn them in at the Registration Table the day of the event, or mail them to the Make A Wish Foundation (wishes.org). Donations made by online registration close through this website will be considered when determining prizes.
*Parking will be at the North Gate at no charge to participants
