STRIKE ZONE Fall 2007 / Summer 2008 TRY OUTS !!!
It is that time again.... Strike Zone will hold tryouts for 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18 Gold for Fall 2007 / Summer 2008 teams on August 18 & 19, 2007 at American High School in Fremont, Ca. from 11:00am - 1:30pm. Tryouts will start promptly at 11:00am, so please plan on arriving early to sign in and get your gear on...

8 Straight - 18 Gold National Berths
Strike Zone 18 Gold has continued their streak making it 8 straight years they have qualified for 18 Gold Nationals. They are on their way to Oklahoma City, Ok. to play against the top 64 teams in the nation.
We are all very proud of the efforts of these young ladies as they qualified the first weekend out in Lancaster going 7-1. Good luck in Oklahoma.
Keep the streak alive in 2008.

18Gold and 14U Qualify for 2003 National Tournament

Both Strike Zone teams have Qualified for the 2003 Nationals...
Our 18 Gold team qualified down in Anaheim winning their bracket.. They are now headed for Salem, Oregon.
Our 14U team took their Metro Tournament to grab the one and only spot offered to the 14U Nationals which will be played out in Normal, Illinois...
Good Luck at Nationals.....

Strike Zone Qualifies for 2002 Gold Nationals in Lancaster!!

SZ18Gold is heading for Broken Arrow, Ok. after this weekends performance in Lancaster's All American Fastpitch National Qualifing Tournament. Strike Zone took 1st place going 5 - 0, qualifyng them for one of the 5 berths to the 2002 Gold Nationals.
Talk about exciting games, there were two notable games which kept the fans on their edge of their seats on both sides.... Valley Breeze and Davis's Orange County Batbusters.
Valley Breeze; Strike Zone jumps out to a 1 - 0 lead... This held for several innings until VB ties it up and then proceeds to go ahead 5 - 1... Not looking good, SZ takes the bats to the VB in the bottom of the 6th and score 5 of there own runs re taking the lead 6 to 5... Let's just say if you blinked you missed it.... Busick took control holding the top of the 7th for their 2nd win of the tournament....
Davis's Orange County Batbusters; This was one of those very tight games were runners get on but do not score.... Please note that the score was 0 - 0 and the Batbusters have one of their stud players up to bat, batting lefthanded... She is touching everything that is thrown at here... Fouling off somewhere around 12 to 15 balls... Finally one of the pitches was where she wanted it and took it to left field over our outfielder head and rolled to the fence.... The fence is about 300 ft away.... She ends up with a triple and is trying to catch her breath.... Knowing that this is a dangerous situation Strike Zone picks her off at 3B after a couple of pitches.... The bottom of the 6th inning, Strike Zone jumps all over the ball and scores the 3 runs that they needed to take care of the game....

SZ14's QUALIFIED for 14U Nationals and are headed to Columbus, Georgia.....
Congratulations.... Thank you for taking us to the very last out of the very last game.... You drive your fans and parents crazy...
Strike Zone Finshes Summer on a High !
Sept. 11, 2001: Strike Zone as an organization ends 2001 summer season on a high note. Sending two teams to Nationals and two other teams to Western Nationals.
SZ18Gold found themselves in Marietta, Georgia battling the best teams in the US and finding themselves placing 17th overall.
SZ12 jumped in to the National scene and the frying pan at the same time, finding themselves in Garland, Texas. With a lot of nervous kids and coaches, they ended earlier then they wanted to placing 49th out of 82.
SZ14 ventured out out Kingman, Arizona in the heat and battled 5 games on Saturday finishing w/ a 3 - 2 record, giving them the 7th place.
SZ18 stayed home in Hayward, where the temperatures were mild, and the hotels beds .... What hotel beds ????? They finished with a 2 - 2 record, also placing them in the 7th position.

Strike Zone Captures 2 Championships in Modesto!
Nov. 21, 2000 Strike Zone sends 3 teams (U16, U14 & U12) to Modesto's Rainbow Fields for their annual Turkey Tournament. Temperatures were on the chilly side and seem to have an effect on all teams there. At the end, all three teams made championship play with two coming out on top to take the title in their age group.
Our under 12's who are very experienced in championship play with 4 titles under their belt this fall, fell short this tournament capturing 2nd place.
Both our Under 14's and 16's came out on top with two nail bitting games. Under 16's beat the Kool Kats 2 - 0 and our Under 14's topped the Lady Hustle w/ a score of 3 - 2.
