Here is a little information about the basketball programs we offer at St.Patricks:
Our Clinic: On Saturday mornings all of our young future basketball players from St.Patrick's learn the basics of the game. Boys and girls are separated in all age groups. The Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders participate in learning the basic basketball skills and other foundations of organized sports participation like warming up and listening to instructions. The clinics are held from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm every Saturday morning.
Our travel competitive teams have representatives in age groups from third grade through high school and compete against teams from 35 different parishes from Brooklyn, Queens & Staten Island. There are seprate boys and girls divisions and strict age requirements are observed for participating on all teams. With 13 teams representing St.Patrick's Basketball this season (BCBA & CYO) our program is again expected to have one of the largest numbers of teams in the league.
Participation in St.Patrick's basketball is not however limited to the 300 children and 10-15 coaches. Many of the parents of these players assist on a voluntary basis in collecting admissions at the door, working in our famous "STP Cafe", cleaning up and supervising the gymnasium every Saturday and Sunday.
