Welcome from the St. Mary Wildcats
"It is a fitting occasion to give thanks to God for the gift of sport, in which the human person exercises his body, intellect and will,recognizing these abilities as so many gifts of his Creator. Playing sports has become very important today, since it can encourage young people to develop important values such as loyalty, perseverance, friendship, sharing and solidarity."
These words delivered by Pope John Paul II during a sermon in 2000 elegantly describe the value of sports for our youth. We invite children from our Parish, School and PSR Program, as well as children from surrounding Parishes that do not offer a sports program, to become involved with the athletic programs at St. Mary.
PHILOSOPHY:St. Mary promotes participation and sportsmanship in athletics to foster the total development of young people and influence the formation of Christian ideals. The young person, not the athletic activity, is the primary focus in the St. Mary programs.
