St. Margaret Dragons Girls Intermediate - Cavaliers Section

CYO Intermediate – Cavaliers Section played an early Saturday morning game at St. Helen’s.  The cold December weather and early start time did not catch the Dragons sleeping as they roared out to The St. Margaret’s a 6 – 2 first quarter advantage. With only Theresa Armano missing from the contest, the ten player squad displayed a well balanced and consistent approach to game management.   St. Helen’s hung tough during the first half which ended 16 – 10 in favor of the Dragons, but as the game wore on the superior depth of the St. Margaret team took control.  At both ends of the court, the front line of Shannon Barrett, Gabriella Gangone and Jubilee Aguilar was able to snag rebounds that either lead to fast breaks, or second chance opportunities.  Kristen Maurer and Miranda Lang at the guard positions distributed the ball and played an inspired defense When substitutions were made, it didn’t really matter which combination of girls were on the court.  Jessica Menna at guard displayed her usual tough defense while Victoria Cirone came up with some key rebounds.  Good ball movement and improved defense from Elizabeth Lynch kept pressure on St. Helen.  Nicole Hubert at forward made several nice assists from the low post and there was no stopping Nicole Kopczynski when she drove to the hoop.   The second half saw some physical play by both teams.  At one point Jessica Menna and Gabriella Gangone were sent to the bench with minor injuries.  But each got back on the court and played with a fierce intensity. There were a number of good plays that could be singled out, an end to end lay up by Shannon Barrett, a precision half court pass by  Kristen Maurer, a blocked shot by Jubilee Aguilar, a steal by Miranda Lang. But in the end it was a total team effort that resulted in a lopsided 37 – 16 victory.

St. Margaret’s Girls Intermediate Win Big At Home...

The St. Margaret’s CYO Intermediate – Cavaliers Section team hustled its way to a dominating victory over St. Helen’s this past Saturday afternoon.  Using a fast break offense and suffocating defense the Dragons were able to put the game away early in the fourth quarter and coast to a 38 – 20 win.  With only Theresa Armano missing the game, St. Margaret was able to overpower a short benched St. Helen team. The Dragons roared out from the start as St. Helen had no answer to Shannon Barrett  and  Kristen Maurer, who repeatedly were able to drive to the basket.  The St. Margaret front court tandem of  Jubilee Aguilar and Gabriella Gangone made it difficult for the St. Helen team to get a second opportunity after a missed shot.  Miranda Lang and Jessica Menna sealed the perimeter defense preventing St. Helen from getting a good look at the basket.  This was a game where the St. Margaret team was moving the ball down court with tremendous speed, putting St. Helen’s at a disadvantage on each offensive possession.  Second quarter scoring by Shannon and  Kristen, along with their first quarter points, accounted for all of the Dragons 16 first half points, while St. Helen was only able to score six.   In the third quarter St. Margaret’s was held to a lone basket by Nicole Kopczynski who again did a strong job of rebounding along with Nicole Hubert, and a basket by Victoria Cirone.   The St. Helen’s team capitalized on some poor passing and overzealous defense to score three quick breakaway baskets, and wind up with 11 points for the quarter.  St. Margaret’s chances to pull ahead to a big lead were thrown away as the passing game broke down and the ball handling became erratic. So now it was up to St. Margaret’s to pick up the pace as the fourth quarter got underway.  Again Shannon and  Kristen started off with fast break points, each scoring two baskets apiece in the final quarter.  Miranda, Jessica and Liz Lynch  contributed defensive takeaways and Jubilee continued to put in extra effort to control the defensive boards. Gabriella Gangone then went to work and scored three successive baskets, and along with the tightened defense it allowed the Dragons to put the game away.  As the final quarter wore on St. Margaret’s slowed down the  pace and controlled the ball as the clock ran down.  A patient offense with better passing lead to a baseline basket by Nicole Hubert.  While St. Helen was again kept to 3 points, Liz Lynch hit two shots from the right elbow that provided the final margin of victory.

St Margarets Soccer Boy Novice Team News...

The fifth grade St. Margaret’s Boys Novice Soccer team headed into the final weekend hoping to make this year’s playoffs after finishing last season 0-10.

The first game was on Saturday October 31 against Our Lady of Hope. The game was a defensive battle as the two teams finished the first half in a 0-0 tie.  The defense, led by John Pszeniczny’s finest game of the season, played the Hornets tight not allowing many shots on goalkeeper Derek Stock.  The defensive unit of Joanna Rizzo, Elizabeth Schatz, Jonathan Roemer, Joseph Cardinale, Max Brutkiewicz and Pszeniczny were vital in keeping the game scoreless.  This was by far their best efforts of the season and in a most critical game.

The Hornets were finally able to break through with a goal at the 15 minute mark of the second half as they were able to sustain continued pressure.  The Dragons stormed back and were pressing deep in the Hornet’s zone with midfielders Peter Stimpfl, Alex Licari and Sal Turriciano pushing the ball deeper into the zone.  The Dragon’s best chance to tie the game came with just about 1 minute left in the game.  Forward Nicolette Wurglics kicked the ball into the corner where Turriciano ran it down and placed a beautiful crossing pass into the front of the net where Anthony Cardinale just missed tapping the ball into the net. The ball bounced through the crease and Our Lady of Hope was able to clear the ball as time ran out.

The second and final match of the season was on Sunday November 1st against Our Lady of Snows.  The Dragons came out aggressive in attacking the defense and breaking through early with a goal by Vincent Ciulla, led nicely by a Derek Stock pass.  Nicolette Wurglics made the score 2-0 with an unassisted goal.  The Dragons headed into the half with a 3-0 lead as Vincent Ciulla got his second of the game, with Derek Stock getting his second assist on the day. Joseph Hickey made some key saves in keeping Our lady of Snows off the score sheet.

Going into the final half of the season, coach Dominick Cardinale let the team have some fun and play positions that they hadn’t played all season.  Defensemen Shane Stock, Jonathan Roemer, Joseph Cardinale and John Pszeniczny all got to play midfield.  Defensemen Joanna Rizzo and Max Brutkiewicz got to play some forward positions.

Our Lady of Snows made it a game by scoring two goals early in the second half.  With the score 3-2, the Dragons were able to answer with a goal of their own by Anthony Cardinale, his eighth of the season.  Cardinale’s goal, assisted by Ciulla and Rizzo, proved to be the game-winner as Snows scored a goal on a penalty shot with time expiring.

The Dragon’s season ended on a positive note as they qualified for the playoffs. Our first playoff game will be this coming Saturday, November 7th against St. Francis Desalles which finished in first place this year. St. Margaret’s wishes the Our Lady of Hope team and their coach Joe Guarisco all the best as they also qualified to make the playoffs. Hopefully we can both win and meet each other again.

St. Margaret Girls Intermediate Hang on for 2 point win in Home opener...

The St. Margaret’s CYO Intermediate – Cavaliers Section team lead 27 – 25 with one minute remaining in its first home game of the season against Our Lady of Grace. In that last minute the Dragons gave away the ball four times leading to five shot attempts and two free throws by Our Lady of Grace.  With about 15 seconds left St. Margaret’s was able to move the ball into their front court where Jessica Menna was able to secure the ball as the buzzer sounded with the Dragons 27 – 25 victors.  A tremendous effort by both teams in what started out as a Dragons rout. The Dragons, with a shortened bench, missing  Kristen Maurer, Gabriella Gangone and Nicole Hubert , fired out to an 8 – 0 first quarter lead ignited by Shannon Barrett  who played her best all around game of the season.  In addition to scoring a basket, Shannons ball handling, rebounding and defense overwhelmed O.L. Grace from the start.  Jubilee Aguilar scored two baskets and commanded the offensive boards, while Nicole Kopczynski also did a great job of rebounding and scored a first quarter basket. Miranda Lang, and Jessica Menna harassed and outplayed their counterparts on every possession. After a second quarter basket by Nicole that put the St. Margaret’s squad up 10 - 0, O.L. Grace, with only five players attending the game, put on an offensive surge of their own, scoring on three quick baskets after taking the ball away from the Dragons who were having trouble moving the ball.  A perimeter defense of Theresa Armano and Liz Lynch tried to hold off the onslaught by O.L. Grace.  A strong defensive rebound by Victoria Cirone translated into another St. Margaret’s basket by Jubilee at the other end of the court.  But just when it looked like the Dragons had righted themselves, the point guard for Our Lady of Grace hit two long range three pointers to knot the score at 12 – 12 by halftime. Both teams left the court at half time exhausted as the play had gone up and down the court at a furious pace.  In the second quarter missed lay ups by St. Margaret’s along with opportunistic scoring by Our Lady of Grace turned a lopsided game into an exciting match.   St. Margaret’s came out strong in the third quarter constantly applying offensive and defensive pressure to their opponent. Shannon continued to drive hard to the hoop resulting in two baskets and four free throws of which she connected on one. A rebound and basket by Jubilee and a lay in by Nicole provided the 9 third quarter Dragon points, while O.L. Grace was held to one long range three pointer, their third of the game, to close out the third quarter at 21 - 15.  A formidable defense and good all around play by everyone on the St. Margaret’s team got the lead back to six to start of the fourth quarter.  But Our Lady of Grace staged a frantic comeback and whittled away at the six point lead.  Two baskets by Nicole Kopczynski helped stave off the comeback, and when Liz Lynch hit a basket it looked like the Dragons were in good shape.  But those St. Margaret giveaways down the stretch provided the last minute drama.Next Saturday St. Margaret plays at home again against the team from St. Helen.

St. Margaret Dragons Girls Intermediate - Cavaliers Section Come from behind victory

The St. Margaret’s CYO Intermediate – Cavaliers Section team traveled to Brooklyn Sunday to play the team from Resurrection in their third game of the season. Resurrection is new to CYO this season and has been playing in the Brooklyn youth league.  St. Margaret’s scored early on a Kristen Maurer lay in.  But Resurrection took control of the quarter by stealing passes, out hustling the Dragons to the ball and getting to the foul line where they hit on four out of seven free throws.  St. Margaret’s hung tough to end the first quarter at 6 – 8 on two free throws by Gabriella Gangone and a neat lay in by Victoria Cirone. The second quarter saw Resurrection again sprint out to a six point lead as St. Margaret’s continued to be plagued by foul trouble.  Then strong defensive contributions from Miranda Lang, Jessica Menna and Theresa Armano helped keep the deficit to a manageable margin while Jubilee Aguilar hit from the inside to get the Dragons onto the scoreboard.  Gabriella then hit for three baskets and Kristen made one of two free throws to cut the half time deficit to two, a 15 – 17 Resurrection lead. St. Margaret’s had many first half opportunities, but failed to convert while Resurrection made some outside shots and took advantage of the Dragons’ foul trouble.  In the third quarter Resurrection could not miss from the outside while St. Margaret’s shooting continued to be cold.  The only Dragons’ points came on two of two free throws from Jubilee Aguilar. However, St. Margaret’s did a better job of handling the ball, reducing their fouling and even putting Resurrection into foul trouble. Down 25 – 17 to start the final quarter the Dragons’ offense started to gel.  Nicole Kopczynski came off the bench to grab some key defensive rebounds and turn the flow of the game in the Dragons direction. Shannon Barrett twice went end to end to jump start St. Margaret’s comeback scoring. Gabriella consistently drove the lane drawing fouls on the Resurrection team, putting them into the penalty situation.  With about three minutes left in the game the Resurrection lead had been cut to two. At this point an inadvertent elbow to the mouth knocked Miranda Lang out of the game.  A half minute later Jubilee fouled out.  With both Nicole Hubert and Elizabeth Lynch missing the game, the Dragon bench was thin.  But contributions by Victoria Cirone, Theresa Armano, Nicole Kopczynski and Jessica Menna, who played some overwhelming defense, kept the Dragons from falling further behind. With less than two minutes left St. Margaret’s tried several times to go inside for a basket that would tie the score but to no avail.  Then Kristen Maurer hit a shot from the top of the key to knot the game at 28.  That shot seemed to breathe new life into the Dragons as they took advantage by outscoring Resurrection 8 – 4 over the final minute and a half.  This resulted in a very hard fought 36 – 32 win over a tough opponent.

St. Margaret Dragons Girls Intermediate - Cavaliers Section Two opening weekend victories

The St. Margaret’s CYO Intermediate – Cavaliers Section team visited St. Pancras for the inaugural game of the 2009-2010 season.  From the tap the Dragon’s took control of the game with strong defense, lead by Miranda Lang and Kristen Maurer, and potent team scoring.  Jubilee Aguilar and Jessica Menna kept the St. Pancras squad from making any offensive headway, while first quarter baskets by Shannon Barrett, Victoria Cirone, Miranda Lang, and three baskets and two free throws from Gabriella Gagone pushed St. Margaret’s to a 14 to 4 edge before St. Pancras hit a three pointer to close out the quarter at 14 – 7.

However, in the second quarter St. Pancras hung tough, despite defensive pressure by Nicole Hubert, Nicole Kopczynski and Elizabeth Lynch.  Throughout the quarter St. Margaret’s efforts to score were thwarted and the half ended with the Dragons clinging to a three point lead, 14-11. The teams traded baskets early in the third quarter as Shannon Barrett hit a layup and was fouled but was unable to convert the free throw.  Ahead by three, Victoria made one of two foul shots and Gabriella drove the lane to put the Dragons up by six, but another St. Pancras three pointer cut the lead back to three. The forth quarter saw increased defensive intensity by the St. Margaret’s team as they held St. Pancras to 1 point via a free throw.  Although St. Margaret’s did get into foul trouble with it’s harassing defense, Miranda, Kristen, Liz and Jessica were formidable at the top of the key in not allowing St. Pancras to drive to the basket or pull up for three pointers. Nicole Kopczynski and Jubilee Aguilar handled the defensive boards.  On the scoring end, Nicole Hubert hit a baseline shot that seemed to ignite the scoring, while Shannon chipped in two more baskets and Gabriella another.

On Saturday, The Dragons traveled to Rockaway to play St. Rose.  Both offenses seemed to struggle early but Gabriella Gangone scored on a layup  and then with a short shot outside the lane.  But St. Rose answered with a basket and then hit a three pointer to take a 5 -4  lead at the end of one quarter. St. Margaret’s got into a better offensive rhythm in the second quarter, spearheaded by good defense from Miranda Lang, Jubilee Aguilar, Jessica Menna, Victoria Cirone, Liz Lynch and Theresa Armano.  Shannon Barrett scored three baskets in the quarter, while Kristen Maurer and Nicole Hubert added one apiece.  Nicole Kopczynski came off the bench to chip in with two more baskets resulting in the Dragons outscoring St. Rose 14 – 5 in the second quarter. The defense caused the St. Rose team some problems, even though St. Margaret’s got into first half foul trouble.  But St. Rose played hard and was consistent in their play.  They scored five points again in the third quarter, holding St. Margaret’s to two more baskets by Nicole Kopczynski.  The fourth quarter started with the Dragons ahead 22 – 15. This is where St. Rose stepped up its scoring and increased pressure on defense.  With four minutes left in the game an 11 – 3 run had given St. Rose a one point lead, 26 – 25. Strong rebounding by Nicole Kopczynski , Shannon Barrett, Jubilee and Gabriella kept St. Margaret’s from falling further behind.  This game became a real “nail biter” as the teams traded leads over the final three minutes.  But St. Rose’s comeback was at a price, for they were over the limit in fouls.  In the first three quarters St. Margaret’s was 0 for 7 at the foul line, but with the game in the balance, the Dragons answered each St. Rose score with made free throws.  Gabriella Gangone hit on seven of eight free throws.  Kristen Maurer made 1 of 2 and Nicole Kopczynski scored a basket on a pass from Shannon Barrett that sealed the 34 – 29 hard fought victory that showed courage and determination from both teams.

The St Margarets Boy Novice Soccer News 10/07/09....

The St Margarets Boy Novice Soccer team split the games this weekend with a 5-1 loss to St. Francis De Sales on Saturday October 3rd, and a 1-0 win against Our lady of Grace on Sunday October 4th.

The first game was a tough loss to a very strong De Sales team. St. Francis opened with two quick goals and then resorted to strong defensive play before breaking the game open in the second half.  The Dragons played hard but couldn't seem to get anything going offensively. Each time St. Margaret’s went on the attack, they couldn’t get past the De Sales defense and hardly put pressure on the goalie.  The lone goal was provided by Elizabeth Zhivanaj, her first of the fall season after, a great pass from Nicolette Wurglics. Anthony Cardinale also assisted on the goal.

The second game was a close 1-0 win against Our Lady of Grace. The lone goal was provided by Anthony Cardinale after an exceptional pass into the open space behind the defenders by Jaklyn Lada. This was textbook soccer by both players who manage to get behind Grace’s defense with precision passing and running. St. Margaret’s kept up the attack with a breakaway by Anthony but he was tripped up in the box on the play. The uncalled trip could’ve have come back to haunt St. Margaret’s as Our Lady of Grace dominated possession throughout the second half.  The ball seemed to be in the defensive zone the entire half.  Great defensive efforts by Joseph Cardinale, Joseph Hickey, Alex Licari, Joanna Rizzo, Jonathan Roemer, Michael Gervais and John Pszeniczny along with Shane Stock’s first clean sheet of the season were the key in preserving the victory.

The Dragon’s stand at 3-2 at the halfway point and hope to continue their winning ways with a rematch against Our Lady of Grace on Saturday at Mafera park in Glendale.

St Margarets Soccer Update 10/29/09

The practice this week will be moved to Thursday October 29th. It will run from 5pm 6:15pm. I had to make this change due to St Margarets starting choir practice on Fridays. Many of our kids are on this choir and may need to attend.

Don't forget we have 2 game this weekend:
Saturday against Hope at 8:30 am at Mafera
Sunday against Snows at 2:30 pm at Glen Oaks

If we can win both these games we will probabaly clinch the last playoff spot ahead of Hope. If we lose one we probably wont make it. Either way the kids played great this year and had the most wins they have ever had before. We should continue to build on this next year if we can maintain the players on the team.

If you cannot make the games let me know.
Coach Ray and I want to take the kids out to Carlo's pizza after the Sunday game as we did the last fall season. Please try to attend, the kids had a lot of fun last year. We will ask anyone interested to meet at Carlo's right after the game. This should be between 4 to 4:30pm.
Coach Dom

Old News:

The St Margarets Dragons had their first game this Saturday September 12th, against one of our biggest rivals, Our Lady of Hope. The St Margarets Boys Novice team beat Our Lady of Hope in a very exciting 1-0 win to start the season. The the goal was scored by Eric Schemitsch (unassisted) after running from midfield around mulitple defenders and taking a difficult shot from a sharp angle in the left of the box that went in right next to the right goal post. Awesome shot Eric. Our defense and midfield played extremely well and were a big reason in keeping us in the game. Great goaltending by Joseph Hickey who gets his first clean sheet (shutout) of the year.

The St Margarets Boys Novice Soccer News....

The St Margarets Boys Novice soccer teamsaw their modest two game win streak come to an end with a tough loss to St. Francis de Sales.  The final score was 5-1 but the game was a tightly contested matchup until the final minutes.  The Dragons saw themselves quickly behind 2-0 as St. Francis scored early in the game.  St. Margaret’s defense, led by John Pszeniczny, Michael Gervais, Joanna Rizzo, Jonathan Roemer, Elizabeth Schatz, Joseph Cardinale and Max Brutkiewicz, kept them in the game until the offense was able to break through de Sales’ defense and goaltender with forward Derek Stock making a threaded pass to a streaking Anthony Cardinale to cut the deficit in half.

St. Margaret’s was able to swing the momentum their way with that goal.   Constant pressure by forwards Nicolette Wurglics  and Vincent Ciulla was matched by the brilliant defense of St. Francis.   Midfield support by Peter Stimpfl, Alex Licari, Sal Turriciano, Elizabeth Zhivanaj, Jillian Hubert and Jaklyn Lada was key in keeping the pressure on in trying to knot the score.  Goalies for both teams (Dragons starter Joseph Hickey and Shane Stock in second half) kept the match close until St. Francis put the game away in the final minutes with 3 goals.

The teams will meet again this Saturday for a rematch at Fort Tilden.

ST MARGARETS SOCCER GAME 2

The St. Margaret’s Dragons Boys Novice soccer team rolled over Our Lady of Snows to improve their record to 2-0 on the young season with a 5-1 victory.  St. Margaret’s jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead as Eric Schemitsch converted a nice pass from Nicolette Wurglics.   The Dragons continued to put pressure on Snows’ defense with excellent play from midfielders Jaklyn Lada and Alex Licari. Forwards Sal Turriciano and Elizabeth Zhivanaji continued pressure on Snows defense was instrumental in Jillian Hubert getting her first ever goal which gave St. Margaret’s a 2-0 lead.  Wurglics picked up her second assist with Vincent Ciulla also getting an assist on the play.
Snows couldn’t sustain any attack as the defense continued its strong play from the first game.  The solid efforts of St. Margaret’s defense (Michael Gervasi, John Pszeniczny , Joanna Rizzo, Shane Stock, Joseph Cardinale, Jonathan Roemer and  Max Brutkiewicz)made it difficult for Snows to get shots on goaltender Joseph Hickey.
Anthony Cardinale had a hand in the next goals as he scored unassisted before assisting on Derek Stock’s first goal to stake St. Margaret’s to a 4-0 lead.  Snows converted on an attack with a deflection goal to break the shutout before Wurglics got her third point of the game with a goal this time, assisted by Schemitsch, who finished the game with two points of his own.
St. Margaret’s strong start to the season can be attributed to the strong finish to the Spring season where they now have won 6 of their last seven games.  Coach Dominick Cardinale hopes the Dragons can build on their strong start with tough matchups coming up versus St. francis deSales and Our Lady of Grace.

Baseball News Updates...

The Dragons took their six game winning streak into their matchup against Our Lady of Hope hoping to avenge their early season loss.  The game proved to be worth the buildup as both teams battled with the Hornets ending up on top by a score of 7-5.

Visiting Hope opened the game against starter Robbie Matos by loading the bases without the benefit of a hit.  Matos came back strong by getting the last two outs of the inning by strikeouts stranding the bases loaded.

St. Margaret’s jumped to a quick 4-0 lead in their bottom half of the first with Shane Breen, Matos and Joseph Tatano coming through with run scoring singles.  The Dragons failed to add to their lead by leading the bases loaded.

The Hornets cut the lead in half with two runs in the top of the second inning before shutting St. Margaret’s down in the bottom half.  Our Lady of Hope then took the lead with 3 runs in the third inning.  Shortstop Jamie Downing made a nice pickup and throw to get the final out at first with the bases loaded.

The battle continued when the Dragons tied the score in the bottom of the third inning with Jack Kiernan driving home Matos from third with a base hit.

With the score tied, Hope took the lead for good by scoring the winning run in the fourth inning before adding an insurance run in the top of the sixth.  The Dragons couldn’t sustain any further attack as their winning streak came to an end.

The Dragons headed into the final game of the season against St. Pancras hoping to rebound from their heartbreaking loss to Hope.

Derek Stock led off the game with a single up the middle on the game’s first pitch and came around to score on Shane Breen’s RBI groundout.

St. Pancras pushed across two runs in their half of the opening inning to take an early 2-1 lead with Daniel Costanza showing some uncharacteristic control problems.  The Dragons picked up their starter by scoring 6 runs in the top of the second inning to take control of the game.  Ansel Monserrate lead off with the first of his 3 walks on the day.  Graham Luongo and Costanza also walked to load the bases.  Sean Mohabir drove in the first of his two RBI’s on the day.  Robbie Matos and Jamie Downing followed with RBI singles.  Shane and Derek Stock along with Jack Kiernan drove in runs in the inning.

St. Pancras scored a run to make it 7-3 after two innings.  The Dragons pushed across another six runs with the big blow a grand slam home run by Matos.  St. Pancras loaded the bases in the bottom of the third inning and had pushed across a run as Joseph Tatano came on in relief but Shane Breen’s spectacular running grab of a liner down the left field line with two outs snuffed out any chance of a St. Pancras comeback.

Steven Kliche and Tatano drove in the final two runs as St. Margaret’s breezed to a 15-4 victory to finish up their season at 8-4.

St Margarets Soccer News...

The St Margarets Boys Midget/Pewee lost their final game on Sunday May 31, 5-2 against Assisi 3 finishing their season with a record of 5-5. Even though we lost the kids played great. Assisi has won all their games this year are 10-0) and has won the championship the last three seasons in a row. In the past this team has beaten us by scores of 8-0 or greater. The Assisi coach would, in the past, pull his top players so the referee would not stop the game. This time we forced them to play hard with their best players the whole game. We had two great goals and threatened with many more. In past games we were lucky if we got one shot off the whole game. This game really shows how far the kids have come and learned during their 3 season with St Margarets. We just missed the playoffs with this loss but we should only improve in the coming fall season.

The whole team played great today. Goals by: Anthony Cardinale from a great pass from Nichollete Wurgics (a great forward pass into the open space behind the Assisi defense by Nichollete to Anthony who was ran past the whole Assisi defense while staying onside). Second goal by Eric Schemitsch off a pass by Jacklyn Lada. (Eric and Jacky were very active in the midfield and were the key to keeping us in the game).

Another great performance by Joseph (No Fear) Hickey, even though he gave up five goals he made many other great saves off some very hard shots by the other team.
Can't wait to see everyone again next season, GO DRAGONS!!!!!
