BACKGROUND

WHAT IS SAMURAI? The St. Louis Samurai is a local select lacrosse program that is run through the GLC Organization, located in St. Louis Missouri. The GLC Organization has been established to help provide the best exposure opportunities and most elite training for all high school players in the St. Louis area. Our goal is to give our members the best exposure opportunities and training to enable them to be recruited into colleges at the Division I, Division II, and Division III Lacrosse levels. The Samurai is currently the only select program in St. Louis.

WHO CAN PLAY FOR SAMURAI? We currently have three teams within our Program, Whitebelts (8th-10th graders), Redbelts (9th-11th graders), and Blackbelts (11th-12th graders). Our sessions run in the summer, and fall/winter (*note no events will be held in the Spring). We hold tryouts for the teams at the beginning of each new session (fall/winter and summer). New tryouts and teams will be set and named per session. *Note if you are a current Senior in high school you are ineligible to tryout for the summer session.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Cost per player can range from session to session due to the number of tournaments and travel arrangements. Tryouts cost are $25.00 per player. Once on the team a player can expect to pay between $1000.00-$1300.00 for the session which includes all travel expenses and program dues. For more information on the total cost, see our excel sheet listing the breakdown for costs/payments.

WHAT EVENTS ARE THE SAMURAI DOING THIS SUMMER? We will hold two weekly practices (check schedule on-line), participate in some of the top Team Tournaments in the U.S.(see travel tournaments), and be enrolled in the QC Lacrosse League for local games.

WHO RUNS IT?
The Samurai is currently owned by the GLC Lacrosse Program and managed locally by Justin Cutter (Webster University Graduate and Vianney Head Coach). The Staff of the Program is highlighted by the top lacrosse coaches in the area including: Co-Owner Coach Nick Silva (Manhatten Graduate and Fontbonne University Division III Head Coach), Dan James (Mercyhurst Graduate), Brandon Schwind (Whittenberg University Graduate), Mike McClellan (Mercyhurst Graduate and current player for the NLL Pro New York Titans, Jeff Garcia (Mercyhurst Graduate), Keith Templin (University of Missouri Graduate and five year veteran high school coach), Mike Silva (Fontbonne University Graduate Division III) and Steve Weiss (Lynburg College Graduate). WHAT IS THE GOAL OF SAMURAI LACROSSE?
