"The St. Louis Redbirds Baseball Club has two proud alumni - David Freese & Ryan Howard. Between these two men the hardware they have been awarded is as follows: National League Rookie of the Year (Howard), National League MVP (Howard), National League Championship Series MVP (Freese), World Series MVP (Freese). There is NO other baseball program in St. Louis other than Lafayette that has anything close to this level of baseball accomplishments-PERIOD. I am proud of these two men, but equally as proud of every player that has ever put on a Redbird Jersey, because they have all contributed to the success of these two men and the program as a whole."
