MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State women's basketball coach Kelly Packard has announced the signing of her 2010 recruiting class. Jazmin Hitchens (St. Louis, Mo./Incarnate Word Academy), Jordan Huber (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis), Katie Murphy (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and Brandy Woody (Thorntown, Ind./Western Boone) who have all signed national letters of intent to enroll at Ball State University and compete on the women's basketball team. "I am pleased to welcome four tremendous young women to our Ball State women's basketball program," says Packard.
"The success of the 2008-2009 season combined with the increasing talent level within our conference demanded a very strong 2010 recruiting effort. This is an extremely gifted class fully capable of substantial success during their careers here at Ball State."Hitchens, a 6-0 forward from St. Louis, Mo., averaged 14.2 points per game and 6.6 rebounds last season.
She was also named to the Associated Press First Team All-State."Jazmin brings a very tenacious and aggressive style of play to the court," said Packard. "She is visibly passionate and creates an energy of competiveness. Her size and skill level will offer significant versatility, and allow her the opportunity to play multiple positions on the court. Jazmin is a complete fit for our tempo style with her ability to run the floor with ease, and to transition into our half court strategy on the inside or on the perimeter."
