St. Lawrence Thunder Midget Minor: 2011 and 2012 NY State Tier II Champions
The St. Lawrence Thunder recently hosted the U16 Tier II 2012 NY State Championship at Cheel Arena on the campus of Clarkson Univeristy. See the Tab for more info.
The St. Lawrence Thunder Midget Minor team is comprised of players from across St. Lawrence Co. in Upstate NY. The team is registered through the Massena Minor Hockey Assoc. The 2011 team captured the NY State Tier II Midget Minor Championship and lost in the quarter finals of the Tier II National Championships. The 2010-11 Thunder also finished 2nd at the Syracuse Nationals Midget AAA Showcase. The 2012 team also caputured the NY State Tier II Midget Minor Championship and recorded a 1-2 record at the Tier II National Tournament in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Opponents include a mix of Tier I / AAA, Tier II/AA teams, U18, and prep school teams.
Home games are played on the campus of Clarkson Univerity's Cheel Arena or on the campus of SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Hall. Teams that visit have the chance to tour the college facilities, meet with coaches, and when available attend Clarkson or Potsdam games.
