Mission Statement
The mission of the Teaneck Stingrays Soccer Club (Stingrays) is to provide the Children (aged 4 to 19) of Teaneck with the opportunity to play competitive soccer; whilst developing their technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills through professional training that abides by the Club’s age specific Player Development Philosophy.
The Stingrays organization carries out this mission by forming teams that compete in the Northern Counties Soccer Association (NCSA) League. All Players must successfully Try-Out for a Team and adhere to Club Policy’s. An instructional non-competitive Training Program is offered to Players aged four to six.
Club Philosophy
The Stingrays Soccer Club was set-up as a non-profit organization in 1993 and is governed by a Board of Trustees. Membership fees are kept at a level to cover operational costs, allowing this program to be all inclusive.
The Board has a defined set of procedures and polices (Handbook) that all connected with the Club must abide by. In addition to the Club policies, the Teaneck Stingrays Soccer Club is also governed by rules and policies set by Northern Counties Soccer Association (NCSA) and by US Club Soccer, the governing body for youth soccer that NCSA is affiliated with. The club provides an organizing framework for teams to form and represent the club.
Offering a range of age specific Soccer Programs, every Teaneck Stingray’s Player receives structured professional training to provide them with the best opportunity at fulfilling their potential. Individual age specific Player development is considered paramount to long term athletic development in our youth Players. The Club believes that this philosophy creates the best learning environment, allowing the real game day success to be the performance of the Players rather than the final score.
With an alternative holistic approach, the program also directs attention to enhancing each Player’s knowledge on nutritional intake, physical conditioning, injury prevention and lifestyle. Such an approach also emphasizes sportsmanship, communication and teamwork for sporting success. The Club identifies how Soccer can incorporate all of these into daily living. The Club proudly initiates an equal opportunities policy to ensure no racial, religious, learning disability and/or social economical discrimination; allowing for a vibrant all inclusive program.
