Southern Tier Hockey Association: Fundraising
Fundraising is a small but important part of the Southern Tier Hockey Association. Any and all funds raised by the organization are used to offset registration costs. The main fundraiser that the STHA participates in is the Binghamton Senators Chuck-A-Puck and 50/50 Raffle.
Binghamton Senators Chuck-A-Puck and 50/50 Raffle - This event requires STHA membership to assist at the Chuck-A-Puck and 50/50 Raffle tables during Binghamton Senators home games.
There are multiple other fundraisers the STHA participates in from year to year. They include (but are not limited to):
1) STHA Annual Golf Tournament - This event is held after the season and is an annual event. It has become a fun way to help gather funds to offset registration costs. The 1st annual event was held at Endwell Greens in May 2002.
2) STHA Calendars - This is a fundraiser used to help gather funds to offset registration costs. The calendars contain numbers that are matched against the New York State lottery numbers. Winners who match these numbers are paid out the winning amounts listed on the calendar for that day.
3) STHA Blankets - This is also an fundraiser used to help gather funds to offset registration costs. The blankets are 54" square, are red in color, and have the STHA logo on them.
4) Town Square Mall 'Booster Day' - This event, held at the Town Square Mall in Vestal, has players stationed as teams at various stores to collect donations. Coaches and parents are present to help supervise the event. Returning players are asked to wear their jerseys (no equipment necessary). New players can wear their practice jerseys or comfortable clothes. Players, please bring a can. Teams should be divided into groups, with each group spending 1 hour outside their designated store.
