The Between the Pipes Fund was established in 2007 to benefit members of the greater Binghamton area youth ice hockey community and to memorialize Bill Pfeiffer as a long-term supporter of youth hockey. The fund will provide the base fees associated with each age group, based on USA Hockey's standard of classification. The fund will benefit the following levels, regardless if the player is enrolled in the house or travel program: Mini-mite, Dyno-mite, Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, and Midget. If awarded, the fund will make the payment directly to the Southern Tier Hockey Association to offset the recipient's base fees. 

Interested applicants may apply provided they meet the criteria outlined below. 

Application Requirements 

• In order to be considered for funding, a family must have their child enrolled as a member of the STHA. 
• The family must submit the application for funding.  
• Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Applicants should submit the following: 

1. Applicant must demonstrate the need for funding. 
2. The applicant must demonstrate that they can sustain themselves in ice hockey after being awarded the grant. 
3. Applicant will be encouraged to volunteer within the STHA or in the community as a way of giving back (not a requirement).
