Southern Tier Hockey Association: Welcome

The Southern Tier Hockey Association is a Youth Hockey Organization located in the Southern Tier of New York State.  We offer both House and Competitive Tier II Travel Programs ranging from Mini-Mites through Midgets, ages 4 to 18.

If you have not attended a class, you will need to attend the dates below.


Notice:  For parents and coaches of the STHA, the schedule of the Parent Education Classes for November and December are now available.  


Each member of a NYSHA affiliated organization is mandated to participate in Parent Education each year.  Only a single family member must attend the class.   This training is mandatory and if training is not completed through one of the training classes listed below then that member will not be allowed to participate in the STHA.


This year the STHA, the Blizzard and High School Hockey Organizations have decided to work together on helping their members receive this training.   A member may take Parent Education from any of these organization’s training sessions to receive credit across all three.


The following are the dates and times for Parent Education classes held by the respective organizations.  Classes are about 15 minutes in duration.

STHA Board Meeting


The Regular Meeting of the STHA Board of Directors will be held on Monday November 24th at 7:00pm at Brothers Two in Endwell, NY.  


Please attend and support youth hockey in the Southern Tier.

Player age groups and fees have been posted.  Financial assistance is available to qualified applicants via the Between the Pipes fund, which is open to ALL STHA players.

Please ensure all base house payments are made

by August 31st, 2014 (No invoices will be provided).

USA Hockey Coaching Clinics,  Safesport Training, Online Modules Training and Screening

COACHING CLINICS are available.  USA Hockey has begun advertising 

           coaching clinics for their Coaching Education Program (CEP).  You                                         can only take one clinic per year.


All clinics are scheduled between 8:30am to 4:30pm. 

The following dates and locations are listed below:

      - 11/15 at Clinton, NY for Level 1, 2 and 3

- 12/6 and 12/7 at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY for Level 4

- 12/20 at Binghamton, NY for Level 1

Per NYSAHA, if a coach cannot fulfill their obligation in attaining their proper CEP certification level prior to Jan, 1st, 2015, there will zero excuses accepted.

ONLINE MODULES are offered to all coaches to complete all applicable age appropriate modules prior to January 1st, 2015 for every level they coach.  Please click here to register for these modules.

Hockey 4 Hope (H4H)


Registration for 2015 Hockey 4 Hope will be held on Sunday,  November 2nd at 2pm.


Regarding the registration process, the first 34 skaters and 4 goalies who register and pay will be guaranteed roster spots.  If you do not register/pay at the same time, your spot will be given to the next person in line who has.  The remainder will be added to the sub list, first come, first serve.  New rules/regulations pertaining to 2015 will be posted to the website soon.

YMCA After School Floor Hockey Program


The YMCA has teamed up with the Binghamton Senators with an after 
school floor hockey program.  
This program is for kids from 7 to 13 years old and occurs every Tuesday,
from 4:45 pm to 6:00 pm.
 Starting Date: October 14th
End Date: December 9th
Cost is $46.00 per YMCA members, $92.00 for non-members.
After Sept 30th, cost is $53.00 per YMCA members, $99.00 for non-members

The Binghamton Senators will assist in coaching the kids throughout the program.

The Sport International Hockey Academy will be returning to The Chenango Ice Rink (December 28-29) for their very popular Winter Clinic Tour (ages 6-14 yrs.). SIHA will be offering a two day - 3 hour clinic, with emphasis on the following skills; Forward Stride, Backwards Skating, Passing, Shooting & 1 on 1 Techniques. Any member wishing to purchase customized warm up suits, sweatshirts, shirts or other items that contain the Binghamton Senator Branding shall obtain approval from the STHA Equipment Director prior to placing any orders to ensure appropriate license requirements are met.  Binghamton Senators merchandise, including Binghamton Jr. Senators merchandise, is only available through authorized dealers.  The STHA Equipment Director shall seek approval of the Binghamton Senators if their branding is being requested.
