ASA Certified Equipment
Shopping for bats? Shopping for catcher's gear? Maybe a new helmet? Please use the above link to visit ASA's site to make sure it's approved first. (http://www.asasoftball.com/about/certified_equipment.asp) This is especially true when shopping for bats, as there are many bats that do not meet with ASA's certification standards. There are even several bats now that have the ASA2004 sticker, but no longer are accepted by ASA.
ASA standards are used by most other governing bodies for softball, including high school and NCAA standards. If it's ASA approved, it should be legal for any other sanctioning body. If it's banned by ASA, it either is or will be banned by everyone else.
