1. HOW CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT ST. FRANCIS HIGH SCHOOL? Shadow Program- Come and spend a day and check the place out! We will match you up with a current freshman, who will take you through the day with him, giving you a chance to see first hand , what makes St Francis a great place. TAKE A TOUR- Parents , along with their sons are welcome to tour the school and its facilities. Call the admissions Office for an appoinment. ATTEND OPEN HOUSE- See the school and the departmental displays: talk with faculty and administration. Sept 2006 Open House. ON-LINE APPLICATION 2. WHAT WILL SAINT FRANCIS LOOK AT FROM STUDENT APPLICANTS? -Diocesan Application given by the Catholic elementary school (public school students should call or email Saint Francis High School for this application). -Teacher recommendations provided with application. -Attendance and discipline records. -Grades and standardized test scores from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. -DiocesanAdmissions,Placement/Scholarship Exam. ON-LINE APPLICATION 3. HOW MANY TEAMS DO YOU FIELD ? We currently field 5 teams at St Francis, 3 varsity and 2 Jv teams. This gives us the ability to have almost 100 kids playing hockey at a high level. 4. HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO MAKES THE TOP TEAM? Team selection is based on tryouts. The best players, regardless of year, are put on the top team. WE try to place players where we believe they have the best chance to produce and improve. All the other teams are decided in the same fashion. Players can move up during the course of the year. 5. IS THERE A FEE TO PLAY? Yes, there is a fee. The Prep Team charges $550.00 for the year which includes all ice time and some equipment. The fee goes down from there for the other 4 teams. |
