AVALANCHE DRAW WITH MCLEAN
With the summer nearly over, the Avalanche took the pitch with two training sessions under their belt, three players out due to injury and three players fulfilling HS sports requirments - the Avs called on the assistance of two U14 guest players to round out a deplete squad. The Avalanche scored first mid-way through the first half and held the 1-0 lead until 10 seconds left in the half. With the half ending, the ball rolled up the back of the Av defender and glazed off her face. The AR called a handball and after minutes of discussion, the CR awarded a PK and the Liberty drew even. The Avs had their chances, but the summer rust was still taking hold and the Avlalanche could not find the back of the net. The game ended 1-1 and the controlversial hand-ball call ultimately was the determining factor that kept the Avalanche out of the finals. Good game girls!!

AVS VICTORIOUS IN GAME #199
Game #199 ended with a 1-0 victory over the Vista Stingrays. Still upset with the call against them in the first match, the coaches calmed the girls down for the task at hand. Trying to salvage the win with a majority of the sqaud out due to injury and HS volleyball, they fought hard for the 1-0 victory. Congrats on the first win of the U15 season!!

MATCH #200
The Orange and Black took the field Sunday morning competing in their 200th match as a squad. Having already been eliminated from the championship game by bonus points, the Avalanche were determined to finish the DNST on a high note. The 1-1 draw with the Liberty was a disapointment due to the circumstances that forced the draw, but the Avs held their heads high and finished off the tournament strong. Still missing three key players due to injury and family obligations, the Avs drew on their strength and pride, and with the help of two U14 players, ended on a victorious note over the Magic 3-1. The Avalanche would like to thank Carly and Katie for filling in during our time of need. Congrats on our 200th game, happy birthday Libby - and now it is time to move forward with continuning success on the field - Next Stop 300!!!!
