4-WAY FOOD DRIVE 2009
A HUGE SUCCESS THANKS TO EVERYONE!
Team up to beat hunger weekend
On behalf of St Christine’s Food Bank/Pantry, and volunteers of the 4-Way Food Drive, we thank all of our 4-Way participants that were so very generous during our 1st Annual 4-Way Food Drive weekend.  Thank you to the St. Edith CYO Board and our sponsors, the Michigan Youth Athletic Association, Busch’s Markets, and Capricorn Diversified Systems Inc.
Thank you to the hosting 4-Way teams St. Edith, St. Regis, St. Anne, and St. Joan of Arc for allowing us to be a part of your event (Thanks to locations of Catholic Central, DeLaSalle, and Country Day for their hospitality).  Thank you to all of the parents, players and coaches of all of the CYO teams that were involved over the 4-Way Food Drive Weekend. (Over 85 teams participated, and we thank them, and may God Bless everyone for their incredible generosity)
The exciting results are from all FOUR, 4-Way Scrimmage collections.
*An estimated 7,500-8,000 non perishable goods were collected along with over $1,000 in donations.  The donations will be used to buy more food for the food bank.
Great timing: Needless to say, the staff at St. Christine’s was stunned to see the first truckload of food, but was speechless when the next three truckloads came in.  During this tough economic time, their shelves of food were almost depleted.  We all saved some lives from a simple act of generosity, but the battle has just begun.  There are plans to create similar food drives collectively during Thanksgiving at Basketball Tourneys, starting with St. Edith & other locations near you. Stay tuned!
