The STAR SC Elite '97 is a competitive u10 girls soccer team. Spring '06 was the first season that the Elite '97 competed on a competitive level. Prior to competing in select soccer at u8 many players on the team played recreational SAY soccer. After the Spring '06 season the league mandated small sided 6v6 games instead of 8v8 for the u9/u10 age groups. As a result of the rule change, a second team, the STAR SC Elite was created. Following the spring '07 season, players from the the STAR SC Black coached by Dave Snyder and STAR SC Elite merged. The team name for the Elite/Black has been changed to the Jags.

The Elite '97 and Jags soccer teams are members of the STAR Soccer Club (www.starsoccerclub.org). The STAR SC is located in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati - OH.The teams are composed of players born between August 1, 1997, and July 31, 1998. For the Fall 2007 season, the teams are playing in the Cincinnati United Soccer League (CUSL). Elite '97 compete in the girls u-10 Premier division. The team is coached by Dave Kuchenbuch & Chris Gillam. The team is managed by Rowena Gillam.

The Elite '97 & Jags completed the fall outdoor season in championship form. Both teams finished pool play undefeated on their way to Sunday's championship game.  One reason that both teams found themselves in the championship game was the collective defensive effort on the part of every Jag & '97 player. Both teams combined to score 32 goals and only allowed 5 goals in eight games. In the finals of the orange bracket, the Jags defeated CUSA Courage 3 to 1.  In the black bracket the Elite '97 won in PKs over Loveland SC Orange 3 to 2. Great job and great tournament to everyone.
