WE ARE NOW THE STAMFORD JUNIOR WRESTLING WARRIORS
Welcome to
Stamford Junior Wrestling Club
Wrestling is a sport that teaches children discipline, hard work, perseverance and sportsmanship. Regardless of whether the wrestler chooses to pursue wrestling beyond their school years, these traits will benefit him in whatever field he enters, and will last a lifetime.
The Stamford Junior Wrestling Club program offers instruction and competitive opportunities for both beginners and experienced wrestlers, ages 6-14, with the opportunity to learn skills, practice techniques, and gain match experience in a disciplined and fun environment. Our coaching staff has over 100 years of combined experience both on the mat as well as working with youngsters.
The Stamford Junior Wrestling Club classes meet:
Mondays and Wednesdays
7:00 - 8:30 PM
at the
Westhill High School Wrestling Room
Fee: $125 per session
(includes USA Card)*
WINTER SESSION: January 8 - March 13, 2008
Stamford Junior Wrestling Club is open to children from all towns and no previous wrestling experience is required. Wrestlers are grouped by age, weight and skill level. To join, simply come to a practice session, fill out a registration and waiver form, submit your payment and start wrestling!
**USA Card is required for insurance purposes. Wrestlers will not be permitted on the mat
until the fee is paid and waiver form is completed and signed by a parent/guardian.
Travel Team
The Stamford Junior Wrestling program also offers both an Elementary School and Middle School Travel Team. The Elementary School Team is for 1st through 5th graders and the Middle School Team is for 5th through 8th graders. Team wrestlers will have both home and away matches during the winter months. Participation on the travel teams is an excellent way to get wrestling match experience, improve skills and develop team spirit. The cost to participate on the travel team is $50 per wrestler. Each travel participant will receive the use of a team wrestling singlet (uniform). The fee allows the club to purchase new uniforms each year and partially offsets the cost of referees, match fees and the head coach's salary. If a wrestler has the desire to improve his skill, participation on the travel team is an excellent way to gain experience while competing against numerous clubs throughout the state.
