Congrats to Lindsey and Selina for being voted 2010-2011 indoor all stars. They will be representing the Mavericks and Team 2A against team 2B. Game time is Sunday January 2 @ 1:45pm West. Come on out and cheer them on!

Indoor provincials
The St. Albert Mavericks 09 are seeded 12th out of 12 teams at the Alberta Soccer Association tier IV women’s indoor provincials this weekend at Soccer Centre South in Edmonton.
The Mavericks kick off their provincial opener today at 9:45 a.m. against Sherwood Park. Depending on the result, they will play the Northwest Peace entry at 1:45 p.m. or 5:45 p.m.
Sunday’s medal finals start at 1 p.m. (bronze) and 1:15 p.m. (gold).

The Mavericks qualified for provincials as the Edmonton District Soccer Association’s third team in the tier IV draw by finishing first in division 3C with 14 wins and four ties in 18 matches. Lindsay Hornung of the Mavericks and Allyson Fong of Revolution FC tied for the division lead in goals with 17. Lorraine Enge tallied nine times and Alison Johannesen added eight for the only St. Albert Women’s Soccer League team at the senior indoor provincials. The Morinville Ladies, last year’s outdoor division one pennant winners by one point over the Mavericks, placed third in division 3A. In division 3C, Revolution was third and Storm United placed fourth. Rounding out the league’s indoor entries were the Pink Panthers (10th in division 3D), Fury (third in division four Atterbury), Gini’s (fifth in Atterbury), Devils (eighth in Atterbury) and Kickers (sixth in division four Troy). The other teams were not eligible for the provincial playdowns.

Div 3 Mavericks Qualify for Provincials
The Mavericks will be representing EDSA in the upcoming indoor provincials. It was a hard fought, physical game in the final attempt to qualify, but they held the fort! Congratulations Mavericks! On the attached schedule Mavericks will be the team marked as "?" on the schedule.

2009 Allstars
Congrats to Jenelle and Audrey from the Mavericks 95 team and Christy and Sam from the Mavericks 09 team for being voted Allstars! It's a great honor to be voted by your peers to represent the team. As Jenelle, Audrey and Sam are unavailable Lynsey, Kim and Dori will be stepping in as the next highest vote getters. Congrats to all of the allstars!
The allstar game is on July 11 at 7pm at the Riel fields (field #1). Our players are on the blue team!

Maverick All Stars
Kristen, Kathleen and Chantal represented the Mavericks at the 2008 All Star game. The game ended 5-5 and once again the Mavericks were front and center in the offense. Chantal had 2 goals and an assist, Kristen had a goal and several other chances and Kathleen caused havoc on the wing, opening up space for the rest of the attackers. Great work Ladies.
