Welcome to the Official Webpage of the Stafford Rockets.

The Rockets are a Division 1 U19 travel soccer team. Our members hail from Stafford, Fredricksburg and the surrounding counties of Virginia. Playing for the Stafford Soccer Club, the Rockets compete in the National Capital Soccer League, indoor winter league soccer and several tournaments each year.

The Rockets many accomplishments over the past years include NCSL Division Championships, Tournament Championships and countless team and individual accolades.

Under the leadership of Head Coach George Lidster, and Assistant Coach Don Brookins, the Rockets enjoy year-round competitive soccer while learning the skills, tactics and sportsmanship required to make them a better team, better players and better men.

Rockets Solid at 15th Annual Dulles National Soccer Tournament

Dateline Herendon, Virginia - 26-27 August 2006 U18 Premier play. 

With eight teams divided into an A and B bracket faceoff where only highest point teams face off in the Sundays finals - the Stafford Rockets had a great run for the B Championship.

Game #1: the Rockets started strong in the first half, but fell to Team America 88 2-1.  Goal by Mike Berry.

Game #2: the Rockets shutout VYS Vipers by a score of 4-0.  This earned a maximum of 10 Tournament points (six for win, one for shutout and the maximum of three points for goal differential).  Goals by Zack Whittle, Mawoya Owolabi (Alex&Lucas 'assist'), and Mike Berry with two scores.

Game #3:  again the Rockets garnered a perfect Touranment point score of 10 by defeating the Reston Soccer Association Team 3-0.  Goals by Mike Berry, Mawoya Owolabi, and Alex Hale.

Despite the initial loss to the bracket champs, the Rockets Team play improved through the two-day events and the entire Team looks forward to the beginning of the season.

Rockets Team #2 Wins Williamsburg's "Sixes Tournament"

Team #2 goes all the way in the Winner's bracket to take take the crown for the U17/U18 Premier Division.  With the remainder of the Team and Family and Friends looking on, Team #2 garners the championshop by soundly defeating the Wizard's U18 Team 3-0 in the final. 

In the consolation bracket, Rocket's Team #1 soundly defeats the Wizard's Team #2 by a score of 7-0.

Rockets Go to Williamsburg "6" Tournament

First Tournament of the Fall 2006 Season! Sunday 6 August 2006 finds 17 members of the Rockets traveling to participate in the Williamsburg 6 Tournament.   Sectioned into two distinct Teams, the Rockets will hone their skills as they prepare for Game #1 - Division #1 of the National Capital Soccer League.

ROCKETS ACCEPTED TO WILLIAMSBURG CUP, SEP 3-4

    The Rockets have been accepted to play in the Williamsburg Cup on Sep 3-4. Last year's Rockets won the Championship in their divison. More information on the tournament will be forthcoming as information is received.

STAFFORD ROCKETS WIN CHAMPIONSHIP

The Stafford Rockets won their division of the "Virginian" Memorial Day Tournament. The Rockets outscored their opponents 16 to 4 in route to a 4-1 record.   

ROCKETS END UP IN 2nd PLACE - HEADING FOR NCSL DIV 2 FOR FALL 2005 PLAY

The Rockets ended the NCSL Spring 2005 season in 2nd place with a 6-1-2 record. The Rockets will move up to NCSL Div 2 for the NCSL Fall 2006.
