Stafford Revolution: Welcome
WELCOME to the home page of the Stafford Revolution. The Revolution is a U17 (fall 2008) men's soccer travel team with Stafford Area Soccer Association (SASA) which is located in Stafford, Virginia. The Revolution participates in Division 2 of the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL). Our state governing body is Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA).
The Revolution players hail from Spotsylvania, King George, Fredericksburg, and Stafford. Our home field is John Lee Pratt Memorial Park.
Directions to Pratt Park: From I-95, take exit 133A east towards Falmouth. Proceed on Warrenton Road (Business Route 17) to the traffic light at the intersection with Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1). Turn right onto Jefferson Davis Highway but do not cross the Rappahannock River Bridge. Immediately turn right onto Cambridge Street and follow it around a sharp left curve onto River Road. Proceed approximately 1 mile on River Road and turn left into John Lee Pratt Memorial Park. SASA Division fields are in various locations in front of and to the left of the parking lot (reference layout on bulletin board near park building).
The Revolution participates in State Cup and tournaments. Several team members participate in VYSA’s Central District ODP (Olympic Development Program) and in the Super Y-League during the summer. Players are well-rounded, active in high school soccer, academics and in their community.
2008 RICHMOND CUP INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT
The Revolution participated in the High School Boys (Navy) Division of the 4th Annual 2008 Richmond Cup Invitationalon held August 30-31, 2008. CLICK HERE to visit the tournament website. All games were played at Harry Daniel Park / Iron Bridge Park, 6600 White Pine Road, Richmond, Va.
The first game of the tournament the Revolution was defeated by the talented 2007-08 State Cup finalist, Roanoke Star Elite. Our boys showed a lot of heart and courage by not giving up when they were down. The second game the boys were defeated by a team that was two years older, the U19 FC Richmond Magic. The team once again showed the character of what this team is made up of and they never stopped putting out their best efforts.
The Revolution showed up to face the VA Rush Nike team on Sunday; however, upon arrival to the field, we were informed the tournament was cancelled due to the rain the area had on Thursday with the showers that they had Saturday evening and into Sunday morning the fields were too saturated to play.
See the history page for previous tournament results.
