Batting Cage Reservations
Cage Time Reservations Cage time is assigned by reservation. You do not have cages during your practice time, unless you reserved them ahead of time. Click on the Cage Time Reservations link above and follow the instructions. Rules for Reserving the Cages 1. Teams may reserve cage time no more than one week(7 days) in advance. 2. If you would like to use two cages simultaneously, cage 3 must be one of the two cages reserved. 3. You can reserve no more than two "cage hours" at a time. For example cages 1&3 from 5-6pm or cage 2 from 4-6pm. If you are reserving cage time during your scheduled field time please limit yourself to reserving one cage. If no one else is there when you come to practice you may use the open cages as well. 4. Reservations should be made on the half hour or hour. 5. Cage 3 is to be used for lite flite machines ONLY. 6. In the event that fields are closed priority for the cages goes to the teams who would normally be practicing at that time. 7. A reservation should look like this: 7:00pm - 9:00pm C1 AA5. That would be Cage 1 for team AA5 from 7-9. You are on an honor system. If you reserve time please use it. 8. You MUST put the equipment away unless there is another team already there waiting to use it. Do NOT leave equipment out expecting another team to follow you. 9. During all-stars teams may reserve all three cages for a one hour block of time. Cage Rules - Updated for 2009 Season *****SAFETY! *****SAFETY! *****SAFETY!***** NO hitting of any kind without helmets period! NO player is allowed to feed balls into the machine at any time. Coaches only. *League age 13/14 can feed balls to batters with supervision* 1 player in the cage at a time while a hitter is hitting. AVOID wearing baggy clothes, jewelry or anything that could get caught in the wheel while it’s spinning. Turn off the machine when girls are picking up the balls. This will avoid any accidental miss fires or a player getting hurt because they are playing with the machine while the wheel is spinning. Keep hard balls from hitting the fence in cage 3. Cage 3 is for soft toss with spongy “Lite-Flight” machine or wiffle balls are ok without a net. Hitting into a NET is allowed on the basketball courts, but we have to share and you should make room for the pitching coaches. Tee work is allowed beyond cage 3. Please obey the rules set forth above as far as reserving cage time. It will be monitored and your cage time will be removed if you are not following the rules. Be nice and share! Do not share the combinations for the cages with anyone! Please report equipment failures or anything that you might think is a safety issue to Tony Silviera ASAP. Keep the equipment and sheds clean. Turn off the lights after use. If nobody is following your cage time, then put the gear away and lock up. Thanks all and have a great season. As always if you have any questions or suggestions, please send them to me or talk to me about them. We are always looking for ways to do things better. - Tony (contact info on Board link)
Remember! All girls in cages must be wearing a batting helmet AT ALL TIMES. |
