Southern Region Ringette Association: Welcome

Welcome!

Welcome to the Southern Region Ringette Association.

Please browse the items to the left for information.

The Southern Region Ringette Association (SRRA) exists to promote, administer and develop the sport of Ringette within our boundaries.  We do this by organizing the coaching and referee training clinics, Come Try Ringette events, approving player movements and contracts, monitoring all game sheets and enforcing disciplinary action, having a Games and Tournaments Representative at all sanctioned Ringette Tournaments, and co-hosting the year end Regional Championship Event.    This website contains the information needed to support these activities.

Ringette is a sport played on ice by teams of female players.  It is non-contact and is known as the fastest game on ice.  Ages range from toddlers to seniors and it is played internationally.  For more information click here: http://www.ringette.ca

Ringette in Ontario Canada is organized by the Ontario Ringette Association http://www.ontario-ringette.com and we are the Southern Region of the ORA.

Our Member Associations and Teams are located in the Niagara Peninsula, - St Catharines, Niagara Falls, Jordan,  Calendonia, -- Within, and West of Toronto - York-Simcoe, Toronto, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton,  (including McMaster University Club Team), Cambridge ,  Paris , Ayr, -- and the areas north and slightly to the west of Toronto  -  Markham , Richmond Hill, and Newmarket.   Most of our associations are within a one hour drive of each other.

Athlete Development

There is a video on YouTube put up by Ringette Canada that lists all the different skills in Ringette and tells when they should be introduced, acquired, consolidated and refined.  It covers all age groups and levels of play.

 Check it out at:  http://www.youtube.com/user/RingetteCanada#p/u/13/zHDJqGa0tpg

There are also links on the Ringette Canada website to eight brand new videos on the different stages of Ringette skills.  This should really help clarify what is expected.  Find it at: http://www.ringette.ca/Content/LTAD/The%208%20Stages.asp?langid=1

Sending money to us!

There a couple of ways to get money for clinics and tournaments into our hands:

  1. The traditional way is to get it taken to the monthly SRRA meeting (typically the first Wednesday of each month) by your president or SRRA rep.  They can hand it over to the Treasurer personallly and between them they can check that it is for the correct amount, what it is in payment of, and that the payee (SRRA) is correct and not the ORA or the home association.
  2. The second way is to make the cheque payable to "S.R.R.A." and mail it to our Treasurer at this address:   Ken Harbottle, 4000 Lakeshore Road, Burlington, ON L7L 1A1
Thank you.
