Make-up Tryouts for All Ages Saturday, February 4th, 10 a.m. at Monroe Fields
This Saturday, February 4th, 10 a.m. at the Monroe Fields Complex is the last chance for players of all ages to try out for the 2012 Spring Season. All players league ages 8 to 12 must tryout to play, so don't miss your last chance this weekend!
Monday, January 23
Tryouts and Final Registration January 28th & 29th @ Monroe Fields
SRALL Tryouts will be held January 28th & 29th at Monore Fields. All players league 8-12 years old are required to tryout, and this weekend will be the last chance for all ages to register for the 2012 Spring Season. - 8 year olds: Saturday, January 28th @ 10 A.M.
- 9 year olds: Saturday, January 28th @ Noon
- 10 year olds: Sunday, January 29th @ 10 A.M.
- 11 year olds: Sunday, January 29th @11:30 A.M.
- 12 year olds: Sunday, January 29th @ 1 P.M.
During their try-out, players are given the opportunity to field fly balls and throw to a base from the outfield, field ground balls and throw across the diamond in the infield, hit pitched balls, and run the bases. Each player is scored in five areas - outfield, infield, throwing, hitting, and running - and these scores are added together to create the player's composite score. Composite scores are used by the league to create the draft pool and by managers to draft their teams.
Because a player's try-out score is such an important determinant of their placement for the season, a little preparation goes a long way. Players that work on their basic skills beforehand increase their chances of a strong, confident try-out and ideal placement during the regular season.
