Gear Up!

Bring your outgrown baseball gear and a few dollars to SRALL tryouts. There will be a table set up where you can make your donation. Then, for pennies on the dollar, you can take home some steal-of-a-deals for your Little Leaguer. Bats, shoes, gloves, etc...all are welcome. And it goes to a great cause. SRALL, of course.

Bedtime Reading

O.K. It may not be exactly a suspense thriller, but it is critical to the continued operation of our SRALL fields. Also, a lot of time and effort was put into forging this new agreement for the use of the Monroe Fields with SRSD. Special thanks go to Tim March and Sean Jeane for their tireless efforts in putting this together for SRALL.

You may also want to note Item IX.A.1 and see if you can get Tim and Sean to negotiate your next lease! See it by clicking here.

Condensed State of the League Presentation

'10 SRALL Needs

O.K. So all this technology is great and it is cool that we can put Tim's PowerPoint presentation on the SRALL website. But you still don't have nearly enough time to go through all 23 slides.

Not a problem. It's easy to sum up.

SRALL NEEDS YOU !

SRALL does not receive money from Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball or Little League Baseball. It doesn't even receive Federal stimulus dollars. It is funded through application fees, Snack Bar income, sponsorships and donations. More than anything, it is supported by the hard work of its fantastic volunteers: Snack Bar volunteers, Board members, managers, coaches, umpires, the Boosters Club, field volunteers, scorekeepers; even the webmaster.

But, you know what? Even with all of these great volunteers, there is a need for YOU! Just click here for a list of open positions where YOU would fit right in. Or, YOU can speak with any one of the existing Board members to find out how YOU can make YOUR League an even greater experience for a few hundred of the coolest kids in Santa Rosa. YOUR kids!

When at Monroe Fields...

Aside from fundamental baseball skills, one of the great lessons to be learned from Little League baseball is teamwork. But this lesson is not only valid for the players on the field and in the dugouts, it is for the Little League community as a whole.

The success of the league depends on the efforts of the coaches, the managers, the umpires, the volunteers in the snack bar and on the board of directors. And it also depends on those who just want to watch their kids play the great American pastime in a safe and healthy environment.

Among the many, many positives that have occured out at Monroe Fields this season, there have been some unfortunate areas of concern. One is the behaviour of a very few fans in the stands who have not taken taken the "Parents Code of Conduct" to heart. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of a game played on the field, but please keep your energy and responses positive.

Also, there have been many incidents in the parking lots before, during and after games that are creating an unsafe environment and creating difficulties with the surrounding neighborhood. Many hours and dollars have been put into upgrading our parking facilities in recent years. However, our success as a league means that even with the upgrades, at busy times, the parking can still not accomodate all of the drivers that would like to park there. Fire lanes are marked and signed for a reason. These areas are OFF LIMITS. It is illegal to park there as doing so will prevent access by fire equipment if needed for a fire or medical emergency at our fields. Offending drivers will be ticketed and/or towed. Please take responsibility. Some drivers are also driving unsafely in the lots. The fields are here for kids. Kids do not always exercise the best caution in and around cars. Drivers behave proactively and exercise the needed caution and restraint to make our parking lot safe. Finally, do not use your horns unless absolutely necessary. The residences surrounding the fields can hear every honk of the horn that is made. Don't provide them with reasons to regret living next to such a valuable community asset.

Thanks for your cooperation.
