Originally set in Panama City Beach ( Bay County ) the event moved to Palm Beach County in 2004.

" SpringFling " teams know that they will receive courteous attention, excellent scheduling on high quality field surfaces, outstanding competition in official collegiate games, a sense of " community " at every event - and a chance to become a better team with the myriad of opportunities to relax, recreate and enjoy the beautiful weather and summer-like environs of Palm Beach County.

Many outstanding teams have attended " SpringFling " including NCAA Division II and III national champions, over thirty NCAA Division One programs  and several of the country's finest prep teams. In 2006, a nationally televised doubleheader was hosted by " SpringFling " at Wellington's Village Park featuring the University of Notre Dame and Loyola of Maryland. In 2011, four team mini-tourneys were established to create even more excitement and energy while special features  like " Breast Cancer Awareness Day, " "Hawaiian Shirt Day " team cookouts at the park and Championship Banners add color and creativity to the event. 2012 saw the addition of DELRAY BEACH and its awesome Hilltopper Stadium as a playing venue for " SpringFling " teams. A doubleheader featuring NCAA D1 teams Yale and Notre Dame along with DIII squads from SUNY Fredonia and Claremont Mudd-Scripps attracted over 750 fans to Hilltopper on March 13.

Event Director Gene DeLorenzo of Vermont has coordinated " SpringFling " since its inception. Coaches across the country are welcome to communicate with Gene at any time during the year to inquire about attendance at the next event. Teams' practice and playing schedules are well designed with the " ease of operation " at the forefront of the planning. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission works in concert with the event management to insure quality fields, reduced price housing and ground transportation - and sponsorship within the county. Palm Beach County offers beautiful beaches, many tourist attractions, an easy access international airport, and many fine hotels.
