Spotsylvania County Little League: Volunteers
NOW RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS FOR THE 2009 SEASON!
Our Little League can only be a success with volunteers! Spotsylvania County Little League depends upon countless volunteers for everything from managing and coaching to umpiring to concessions, field maintenance, fundraising, etc. Any of the following volunteer opportunities will help qualify your family for a refund of the volunteer fee. We are constantly looking for volunteers to serve in the following functions:
Managers and Coaches
Beyond the direct responsibilities of working with their team, each manager and coach will maintain contact with the parents of their players and represent the Little League program in recruiting assistance for the various functions within the League, such as fields and grounds, umpires, team parents, etc. Managing and coaching can be a fun and rewarding experience.
To volunteer please contact one of our Division Directors or fill out a volunteer application and return to us along with a copy of your photo id via mail, email, or at one of our in person registrations.
Minor Division Director (Minor, Coach Pitch, and T-Ball) -- Hillary Lober
Major Division Director (Major, Junior, and Senior) -- Will Mullen
Umpires Needed!
Check out our Umpire page for details on how to receive a refund of your registration fee! Well-trained and interested umpires are as essential as the players themselves, to ensure a great season! Volunteers are needed for all games during the year for Minors through Seniors. Equipment and training are provided by the League. Contact our Umpire in Chief, Andy Hilsabeck, to find out how you can offer your assistance.

Fields and Grounds
The condition of the playing fields should be of utmost concern to all parents. Our goal is to have fields that are safe, attractive and well kept. We need volunteers to help prepare the fields before games and assist with any other repairs needed. For information on how you can help contact our Grounds Coordinator, Warren Cooper.
Team Parents, Scorekeepers, and Pitch Counters
Parents from each team serve as the team’s scorekeeper, assist with monitoring pitch counts, and with other duties as needed by the Team Manager. Please ask your team manager how you can assist this season.
Concessions
Working at our concessions tables is another great way to help out Spotsy Little League. A few hours here and there can really add up and make a difference. Concessions can provide that extra energy before a game and an opportunity for comradery. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Luke Brevik, to learn about our opportunities.
League Committees and Board of Directors
It takes a lot of volunteers to keep SCLL running every season. All of our events require a lot of volunteers to ensure they are planned and managed. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Luke Brevik, to learn about our opportunities.
Near the conclusion of the season, don't forget to return here and print the Volunteer Refund Form. Fill it out and turn it in to your Team Manager or Division Director to get a refund of your 2009 Volunteer Fee.
