SCLL Umpire Information Session
Volunteer Help Needed:
Spotsylvania County Little League’s (SCLL) umpires fall information session will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 6 – 7 p.m. If you are interested in learning about umpiring ,including what it’s all about and how you can help the games, please consider attending this meeting.
There are many volunteers who provide help in running SCLL, including coaches, team moms, scorekeepers, pitch counters, etc. Sometimes one volunteer need is often overlooked. That is the need for volunteer umpires to officiate the League’s games. This brief meeting will be to introduce attendees to basic information on how to umpire, provide simple instruction on positioning in games and to solicit volunteers to help provide coverage for the rest of the fall season.
SCLL provides training throughout the year to instruct its volunteer umpires. Please consider coming to this introductory session to learn how you can help. Volunteering to help cover games is a wonderful community service and is a great joy to help the players play the game of baseball.
To RSVP your attendance or to ask questions, please contact Brian Wolfe, SCLL umpire in chief at scllinfo@comcast.net or call 540-903-0596.
