Spokane South Little League: League News
Friday, October 16NEW 2009-2010 President-Letter
Dear Parents, Coaches and most importantly, baseball players:
It is my pleasure to welcome you to another year of Spokane South Little League baseball.
We are preparing to enter into one of the most exciting times in our league’s young history, the building of our own baseball fields. These fields will be something we can call our own, including every parent, coach, player and member of our SSLL community. I know these fields will be a source of pride for everyone involved in Spokane South Little League.
I personally have three kids in SSLL at three different levels and look forward to these next few years of watching them develop. My focus during my tenure as president will be building community. I want us all to feel as though we are one baseball community with the common goal of maximizing our players’ experiences. In these tough economic times I hope that we can all come together to help build this park, strengthen and build the foundation of coaches, umpires and other volunteers; and ensure that every boy and girl on the South Hill has the opportunity to play baseball.
I will focus my efforts on the lower divisions of play (i.e. tball, A,and AA). Jay Kirkpatrick is our VP of these divisions, but this is also the largest population of SSLL participants. Jay and I will work together to assist the coaches and field coordinators to ensure our kids are all playing by the same set of rules and in the best environment possible. Although our philosophies may differ, I believe the initial SSLL board, the annual rules committee, and Little League International have established a solid core of rules.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime via email at danhilsendeger@gmail.com. As always all parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles etc. are encouraged to lend a hand wherever they can.
I want to personally invite all of you to our annual meeting at Morningstar Boys Ranch on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7pm. Please send me an email if you think you might attend so I can get an approximate head count so we can plan how much room we will need. You will be able to see the one new field we have built as part of our agreement with the ranch as well at see the land where our players will be running, hitting, catching and having a ball in the near future.
Sincerely
Dan Hilsendeger
