WELCOME TO THE SPOKANE SLIDERS GOLD-SPOKANES FIRST GOLD PROGRAM
This is the official site of the 2007 Spokane Sliders GOLD AND home to the developement programs U10-U16. The Slider program competes at every age group beginning at U-10. Our U-18 program has become one of the most competetive programs in the nation, at every level, including gold. As the players emerge in this program, they continue to be challenged, with the hopes of playing at the college level. Together, we are building future college players, one year at at time. We invite you to browse and hope that you might contact us to share Softball news and thoughts.

SCHWARTZ TO CENTRAL

Jenn Schwartz, Slider 08' outfielder, has signed a letter of intent to play with Central Washington University. Jenn will join the wildcats this fall. CWU competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference where they went 12-12.

Congrats Jenn!!

MORALES SAYS YES TO PSU~

Alexa Morales joined the Portland State family with a verble to Head Coach Amy Hayes. Lex narrowed down her choices and went with PSU because of the location and the great coaching staff! PSU is a D-1 school that competes in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference. She will join the Viking squad in the fall of 09' and joins team mate Danielle Lynn in the Viks family.

ALLRED TO CLEVELAND STATE

Afton Allred will join the Cleveland State softball team in the fall of 09' joining her older sister Kala. Afton is exited to have the chance to shine at the D1 level. CSU competes in the Horizon league where they went 14-4 in conference and an impressive 31-18 overall.

Congrats Afton!!!

LOOKABILL HEADS TO THE MID-WEST

Tiffany Lookabill becomes the latest Slider player to commit to play college softball.  Tiff signed with Western Nebraska and will join their program this fall. Western Nebraska finished the year with a school record 54 wins, Region IX champions, 3 NJCAA All-Americans, and 9 1st team all region players!

CONGRATS TIFFANY!!         (more commitments to come...........)

FIREWORKS A HIT!
The Colorado Firworks Tournament, one of the biggest college exposure events of the year, proved a huge success for the 2008 Sliders Gold team. In front of hundreds of college coaches, the Sliders finished 17th out of 130 and went 14-5-2 overall. Congrats girls and way to show off the Slider talent!

PARKS VERBALS TO NORTH DAKOTA STATE

Our 08' Senior pitcher Randi Parks has given North Dakota State the verbal they were waiting for.  NDSU has been searching for that outstanding pitcher flying under the radar and they found Randi. The Parks' are excited to have found a perfect home for their daughter and can't wait for her to continue greatness at the level.  

North Dakota State competes in the Division 1 Summit League and went 34-23 last season.

BURGER BECOMES A DUCK
Allie Burger, an 09' outfielder has verbaled to the University of Oregon. Allie is excited to play for the Ducks and stay in the northwest to finish her softball career. Allie joins team mate Sam Skillingstad who joins the Ducks roster in 08'.

LYNN CHOOSES PORTLAND STATE
Sliders 09' Outfielder Danielle Lynn has committed to Portland State University. Danielle feels like PSU is like a second home and has total confidence in the coaching staff to take her to the next level. We are thrilled to keep Danielle in the Great Northwest! Congrats "D"!

ANDERSON & KINE & FROST COMMIT TO UNIVERSITIES
CONGRATS TO THE FOLLOWING SPOKANE SLIDERS GOLD PLAYERS:

MOLLY ANDERSON 08' catcher/1b: committed to the University of Indiana in the Big 10 conference. After her visit, Molly and her family felt that Bloomington was going to be the perfect place.

CHINA FROST 08' 1B/3B and KATIE KINE 08' SS/2B: both committed to Wright State University in Dayton Ohio. On their visit, both Sliders loved the campus and facilities and look forward to their college experience together.

WE CELEBRATE YOU, YOUR EARLY VERBALS, AND LOOK FORWARD TO YOU REPRESENTING THE SLIDER PROGRAM AT THE NEXT LEVEL.

SKILLINGSTAD NAMED WASHINGTON STATE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Sliders Gold stand-out pitcher Sam Skillingstad has been honored as the Washington state Gatorade player of the year. Sam was perfect at the 4A state tournament, not allowing a single run. Samantha finished the season 28-1 with an amazing 0.24 ERA and a proud state champion.

Sam was also named the WIAA player of the week.

Congrats Sam, we are so proud of you!!
