Cross Country 2008
Spokane Mercury's Cross Country season should be the biggest and most successful season yet. We will be adding adult and master's divisions to our team. With Spokane hosting the National Master's Track & Field Championships, this last August and the National Open XC Club Championships this coming December, we have had a number of Adult distance runners asking to be a part of Mercury.
Chris Lewis is our head coach. We are currently looking for an assistant coach for him, since we are expecting our largest group of athletes this fall and winter.
Our Junior Olympic season will be officially under way on October 21st.
Practices will be at Manito Park on Tuesdays & Thursdays time TBA. After daylight savings time, our November & December practices will move to Riverfront Park. Coach Chris will be having some additional practices on Tuesdays beginning the week of Sept 29th (however the first week, the practice will be Thursday). Please check the calendar for exact days, times and locations.
The Junior Olympic Association Cross Country Championships are November 15th at Plantes Ferry Park. The Region 13 meet is at Lower Woodlawn Park in Seattle on November 22nd, and Nationals are in Mechanicsville, VA on December 13th.
