Spirit of Morgan Hill: Divisions
Divisions
T-Ball
The T-Ball division is for 4-6 year old players who want to have fun. Players will begin to learn the very basics of fielding, catching, throwing and the always popular hitting. T-Ballers will play on Saturdays with no weekday games or practices. An 11” softie safety ball is used for all T-Ball games. In this division EVERYONE
is a winner.
Minors
The Minors division is for 6-8 year old players. In the Minors division players will really begin to learn the key mechanics and fundamentals of fielding, catching, throwing and hitting. Players will put these skills to use by being allowed to play every position on the field throughout the season. In the Minor division players will begin to learn how to pitch using the windmill fast pitch technique. An 11” softie safety ball is used in this division throughout the season. And as with the lower division in the Minor division EVERYONE is a winner.
Juniors
The Juniors division is for 8-10 year old players. The Junior division players will apply their fielding, throwing, catching and hitting skills to softball and team strategies and fundamentals. Players will be relied on more in this division to pitch to batters strengthening player development both on offense and defense. Players will have the opportunity to enjoy the game of softball in a relaxed manner throughout the season that will culminate in an end of the year
championship tournament.
Upper Division
The Majors division is for 11 and up year old players. This division allows players to work on skills that need improvement as well as fine tune skills they have obtained. The upper division is more competitive then the three lower divisions in that all games are played under the standard American Softball Association rules and guidelines. The Upper Division conclude their season with a championship tournament.
