Welcome to the Home of the Springfield Fire

The Fire is a U-17 boys competitive soccer team that hails from Springfield, Illinois. The Fire competes in the Central Illinois Youth Soccer League (CIYSL), indoor soccer, and several premier tournaments, including college showcases.  

Our Mission:
Under the leadership of an experienced coaching staff, the Fire enjoys year-round competitive soccer while learning the skills, tactics and sportsmanship required to make them a better team, better players, and better individuals. The Springfield Fire was established for the love of soccer and an opportunity to share quality coaching with skilled players. Our organization wants to help mold young soccer players into role models on and off the field. We want to develop players and represent the future collegiate choices through competitive soccer and the principles of self-discipline, dedication, and high self-esteem. The foundation of this organization is parents with an interest in helping us help their children. We will build a successful team with the combined efforts and commitment of our players, coaches and parents along with dedicated sponsors.

Team News:
US Club Soccer Regionals - Semi-Finalists!
The Fire advanced to the semi-finals of the US Club Soccer Regionals in Indianapolis.
 The Fire had great wins over the Rockford Raptors and JPFC (KY) and a tough loss to Gallagher. Way to go Fire.

 

FIRE ADVANCES TO FINAL 4 OF ILLINOIS STATE CUP!!
The Fire won their second, third and fourth round Illinois State Cup games by knocking off the Bartlett Hawks, Chicago Sockers and FC United Select. The Fire advanced to the Final 4 (semi-finals) with all three of their games going to OT and PK shootouts.

Crossroads of America College Showcase - CHAMPIONS!
4/20/09: The Springfield Fire went 3-0 at the Crossroads of America College Showcase to claim 1st place out of 24 teams. The tournament included our first international match-up (Windsor FC, Ontario, Canada) and a tough win over the #6 ranked team from Ohio.  Way to go team!!


PUMA Champions Cup
4/6/09: The Fire went undefeated at the PUMA Champions Cup with two wins and a tie - good enough to finish first in the pool and advance to the semi-finals. The tourney was then canceled due to weather. The wins included a great come-from-behind 4-2 win over Croatia and a slim 1-0 win over BTSC on a goal in the first 30 seconds of the game. Congratulations Fire!
