"SPEED MACHINES" "SPARQ" SPEED DEVELOPMENT, FITNESS CONDITIONING AND TRAINING

The greatest concern among today's athletes in all sports is how to improve playing speed; the speed of all movememnts, including starting, stopping, accelerating, changing direction of the body, delivering or avoiding a blow, sprinting and split-second decision making during sports competion.

The "Speed Machines" Sports Speed Development, Fitness Conditioning and Training Program is designed to include strength training, plyometric exercises and drills designed to improve running mechanics and "playing speed". Using a variety of basic speed and strength assessments, each athlete is evaluated and provided age-appropriate rules designed to meet the athlete's personal speed profile.

Beginning in December, training sessions are held every Monday, from 5:30 - 7:30pm, at the TCAP/WestSide Community Center gym (formerly West Jr. High School), located at 1230 Palmyra Rd., SW, Warren, Ohio 44485 and is open to any participant looking to improve their speed and quickness. Because of the tremendous interest and the limited 25 slots, registration is on a first come basis. Sport specific training is available upon request. For more details call: Program Director, Jack Thornton, Jr., 330-372-6252 or email: jthorntonjr1@msn.com.
