Our Summer Selects teams will be begin their summer schedules tomorrow in the End of the Trail Shootout, which is a warmup for the prestigous End of the Trail All-Star tournament, July 6-9. After these two tournaments all three teams venture to Seattle for the MNSM Nationals. Our Black and White teams then proceed to Las Vegas to play in the Main Event, July 23-26 and our Oregon Selects go to San Diego for the MNSM West Coast Finals. STEIGLEMAN, BROWN AND WHITFIELD NAMED 6A ALL-STATE

Kathie Steigleman (Sheldon) was named 2nd team 6A All-State today along with Sarah Whitfield (South Eugene) and Theresa Brown who were named Honorable Mention. They join a long list of other present and former Select players named to All-State teams this month. A.J. Smith (Willamette) was named 2nd team 5A All-State, Leah Mancino (Junction City), Kaitlin Kronberger (Cottage Grove) and Rylee Peterson (Newport) were named 1st team 4A All-State. Lastly, Chandler Gabrio (Creswell) was named Honorable Mention 2A All-State.

STEIGLEMAN AND BROWN PLAY IN OREGON-WASHINGTON ALL-STAR GAME

Katie Steigleman and Theresa Brown, both from Sheldon High will be playing this Sunday, April 6th at the Chiles Center for Oregon in the annual Les Scwab Oregon-Washington All-Star game. Steigleman and Brown are longtime Speedcat/Select players and we wish them well. This is the third time a former Select player has been in the game. Last year Emily Doran from Crescent Valley played in the game, and three years ago her sister Elizabeth Doran also played in the annual game.

SPRING WORKOUTS NOW IN SESSION

Spring workouts will begin Monday, March 31st at Lane Community College. We will hold workouts Monday and Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:00pm, from March 31st to May 21st. Coach Kevin Grumbley, Asst. Coach at Lane Community College will be the instructor. The cost for workouts will be $10 for individual sessions, or $70 for eight sessions or $120 for all sixteen sessions. WVBA SELECTS SILVER PLAYERS MAKE ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAMS

Several players from last summer's WVBA Selects Silver team made their respective State Tournament all-tournament teams. Sarah Whitfield (South Eugene HS) made the 6A All-Tournament 1st team, Katie Steigleman and Theresa Brown (Sheldon HS) made the 6A All-Tournament 2nd team. Katie Collins (Willamette HS) made the 5A All-Tournament 2nd team along with Ashley Smith (Willamette HS), who played for our WVBA Selects Black team two summers ago. At the 4A State tournament, Rylee Peterson (Newport HS) made the 1st team All-Tournament team and Kaitlin Kronberger and Reed Levings (Cottage Grove HS) made the 2nd team All-Tournament team.
