Sparta 96 became the 2005 champions of the Presidents Cup Tournament after a hard-fought match against USA Patriots. Both teams were tired after semi-final matches just previous to the championship match, but neither team gave up and it was a very exciting game to watch. USA scored the first goal on a corner. Sparta scored the next two goals, but USA kept playing hard and scored again, ending regulation time in a 2-2 tie. During the first over-time period, Sparta had a couple of close chances at the net but didn't score. Just before the end of the 2nd over-time period the game winning goal was scored by Sparta.

To get to the final round, Sparta beat USA Hansen 7-0, La Roca GA 4-0, Utah Steam Select 3-0, and Sparta Koelliker 4-0. It was fun to see Bodi back on the pitch with the team and agressive as ever! Cody Maas from Strikers played with the team as a guest goalkeeper and had a great tournament with four shutouts. The only goals given up by the defense was in the Championship match.

Congratulations Sparta!
