Congratulations to Taina Flores! she was 1 of the 10 players selected by the Seattle PI's All Start Team.

WHAT SHE DID: The co-MVP of the Metro League Sound Division led the 10-1 Rams to their first league crown since 1981. The outside hitter averaged 1.2 blocks, 3.5 digs, 3.9 kills and 1.3 aces.

HOW SHE DID IT: According to coach Mark West, the quiet Flores leads by example with a blue-collar work ethic. "I'm so passionate about volleyball when I play," she said. "Before play I'll joke around, but during, I'm in the zone."

WHAT SHE'LL DO NEXT: Flores plans to play in California. "I never thought I could make it this far," she said. "In middle school I saw it as a tool to go to school and get scholarships, and I just worked for it."
