Fuze Finished 10th in the Nation.
The fuze are playing for Gold Division and TOP 16. We are doing great 5-3 overall have played 21 sets in 2 days. The guys are on top of the World. All of the top college coaches are watching them take down the clubs from around the nation. We are definitely the fan favorite and underdogs. We started at # 39 seed and have made huge steps to reach our goal.
All of the coaches and spectators are routing for us and suprise at our sucess. We have several boys moving on to play at college next year like Ramsey Neville-George Mason, James Dorr-Limestone and HP Championships, and several younger guys like Dominic Van der Jagt U14 and Matthew West U15. We have Thies Kettlesen, Max Ozuna, Josh Tag returning from last year and first year players Tim Bolan, Pete Biencourt, Sam Homer who are all contributing to the teams overall success.
The Spaceneedle Volleyball Foundation have gone to a National Championship for the last 2 years and the Boys have not disappointed. We consistently win more than we lose, and that is saying a lot for a group coming from a State with 80-100 Boys playing and no High School league. For a State with no Boys Volleyball, We have Boys with a lot of Heart who are playing at Nationals and taking advantage of what they can not do in Seattle. Last year we finshed 27 out of 52 teams in Sandy Utah.
First day: 1-2 overall. We were very tight and nervous to start the tournament. We went 3 games with two teams and went 3-5 sets
Second day: 4-1 overall. We were much more relaxed and did great in the Challenge Bracket winning 2 matches in the early morning and 2 more matches in the afternoon and 1 loss in our second pool play.
Third day: Pool play yet to come tonight. We play against #4, #6 and #9 seeded teams. We went 0-3. We started at #39 and we are currently placed at #13.
Fourth day: We finished the final day of tournament finishing 3-1 and losing in the Finals of the Silver Bracket 10th Place out of 52 teams. It was another great day and the guys played in a Zone for some long runs, especially day 2 and day 4, we played 35 total sets in 5 days which ore Volleyball than we played all season in the Puget Sound Region.
We beat teams from Hawaii, Ohio, Illionois, Nor-Cal and Yes can you say Southern California Regions. The guys finished with their self respect and dignity I am very proud of the hardwork and team effort that each player gave 100% for each and every point.
We had a fantastic tournament and each one of the boys played the best Volleyball that they have ever played up to this point. Thanks Seniors, Ramsey Neville,Josh Tag, James Dorr, Theis Kettlesen, and Pierre "Pete" Biencourt. Bon Voyage Boys!
