| Hey Southwest Little League! Good to see that Southwest is still alive and kicking! I grew up playing ball there from 1973-1978 (before the old fields down at the other end of Sunset were flooded and washed away). Keep up the good work! |

| I was thinking of all of you and hope that you all had a great Season, My son Charlie took a season off to decide if baseball is his cup of tea, I think that he will be back next year with the juniors at Goddard JR High. | Dear Southwest Little League families, I want to take this opportunity to thank all returning players and parents for registering for the 2004 season. I also want to welcome all of the new families to Southwest LL. I anticipate this year to be an exciting year as we start the season playing on "new" baseball fields. For the first time that I can remember all SWLL divisions will play at the same complex. The County of San Diego is nearly done constructing the baseball fields at the Tijuana River Valley Sports Complex, Home of Southwest Little League. If you haven't driven by the sports complex lately, you will be amazed. The Southwest LL Board of Directors would like to thank all of the players and their families for their patience while we used a temporary location last year. Once you see the completed complex, we hope you will agree it was worth the wait. With the new fields also comes new responsibilities to maintain all of the fields. Altough the County will do the general maintenance, SWLL needs to "step up to the plate" and assist the County maintain the baseball diamonds. SWLL is looking for volunteers to help with field maintenance. We also are looking for help at the snack bar, umpiring and scorekeeping. This league can only grow stronger by recruiting additional active volunteers. Please take the time to volunteer with your child's team and/or help with the positions mentioned. The league is maintained by volunteers so that every dollar received goes back to operate the league. If you are interested in volunteering, please call 575-6168. I personnally would like to thank those who have already volunteered for this new season. I especailly would like to thank the board members. Many of these board members have been working and meeting faithfully since August to plan for a safe, exciting and fun filled 2004 season. Thank you very much for you dedication to ensure that this season is a great one. See you all out at the ballpark! Lydia Moreno, SWLL President |
