South Valley Little League: SV Little League 2016 Divisions

Majors 50/70 Baseball

Tee-Ball (ages 4-7)
Tee-Ball is fully instructional, generally the 'entry level' for the youngest players. Rules allow consideration for using Coach Pitch (max of 3 'pitches') during Tee-Ball Games. Like Minors, there is no minimum # of players required.

Minor Baseball (ages 7-11)
Fully Instructional Division. Generally divided into Coach Pitch (7-9) and Player Pitch (9-11). 6 year olds may be considered to move up to Coach Pitch after one year of Tee-Ball.

Junior Division Baseball (ages 12-14)
Depending on the local board vote, effective 2006, 12 year old's may be eligible to "try-out" for and be placed on a Junior Division Team. Also, if there are limited 15 year old's across the district, they may be placed on a Junior Division team - as long as a waiver request is submitted from the league, thru the District Administrator, to Little League.

Minor Softball (ages 7-11)
Fully Instructional Division. Generally divided into Coach Pitch (7-9) and Player Pitch (9-11). 6 year olds may be considered to move up to Coach Pitch after one year of Tee-Ball.

Major Softball (ages 9-12)
The "step up" from Player Pitch Minors, Majors is a more competitive level of play, with 11 & 12 year olds eligible for selection to the Little League All Star Team which can advance to the Little League World Series !

Junior Division Softball (ages 12-14)
Depending on the vote of the local board, 12 years old may be eligible to play in this division beginning in 2006. Also, if there are a limited number of 15 year olds that sign up, it's possible they will be eligible to play in this division - if the league writes a "waiver request" to the District Administrator who will forward it along to Little League for consideration.

Challenger Division (Adaptive Baseball for ages 4-21)
The "Challenger Division" of Little League is specifically designed for "mentally and/or physically 'challenged' youth" who would find it extremely difficult to participate on a conventional team. Contact the District Administrator for more information.
