August 3-7, 2009: Conditioning Week # 1
(NOTE: Individual Photo for "The Book" will be taken during this week!)

August 29, 2009: Tentative Jamboree
September 11 / 12, 2009: First Game
November 14, 2009: Snow Bowl
Attention all potential Football & Cheer Coaches and Board Members
The time has arrived for football coaches, cheer coaches and board members to apply for the upcoming season. All head coaching applications have been received. Interviews will be held in April for head coaching positions. Head Coaches will then choose their Assistant Coaches who will need to be interviewed by the Executive Board for final approval. All coaches that are selected will be required to attend a mandatory coaches clinic on April 25th at South Tahoe High School. In addition, a second mandatory coaches clinic will be held either in mid-June or early July. Anyone who does not attend these clinics will not be able to coach this season.

Board position selections will continue at the next Board meeting on April 16th. Please submit all board applications as soon as possible.

The upcoming season is bringing some exciting changes to South Tahoe Pop Warner

No two-way players in the Tiny Mite, Mighty Mite and possibly the JPW divisions if 22 or more players are on a team.

All players will be played down that can play down. Selection of the team your child will play on will be made solely on age and weight. Pop Warner does not allow try-outs; therefore, a players abilities or time playing will not be taken into account for team selection.

As an experiment, South Tahoe Pop Warner will be playing every player 2 plays beyond the minimum number of plays.

These changes and others will be reviewed with all coaches during the 2nd coaches clinic.
Currently South Tahoe Pop Warner is forming a committee to review and revise our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and our Bylaws. Anyone interested in helping, please contact an Executive Board member for more information.

South Tahoe Pop Warner will begin accepting applications for enrollment in the 2009 season on March 1, 2009. The applications can be downloaded and mailed to our P.O. Box with a deposit of $35. Otherwise, you can turn in your athletes application to any Executive Board member and you will be sent a bill for the fees. All fees must either be mailed in our given to Christina Alvarez this season. The third alternative will be to signup on-line utilizing a credit card. The on-line signups should be available around the middle of March.
