South Suburban Wildcats Girls' Travel Basketball Organization

The South Suburban Wildcats of Lincoln-Way was started to give girls the opportunity to play travel basketball while keeping in mind that many of these girls also play other sports, need to concentrate on school and have family lives that make it impossible to give up every weekend to basketball.  The organization was started by John Kroen and Wayne Pietruszynski in March of 2007, an idea that ultimately transformed into the South Suburban Wildcats. We built the organization on the premise that all costs would be split evenly and tournaments and games would be scheduled with input from the parents.  The organization is a member of the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) and participates in the top area tournaments.  We have a Fall/Winter session that runs from December - March that includes girls' teams at the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels.  Next year we will run a spring/summer session that will run from April - July.

The South Suburban Wildcats is a not-for-profit organization whose only focus is girls' sports, which dictates everything that is done, from the way the organization trains, and practices, to its motivation of the players.  It also means, "girls first" when it comes to gym time, program costs, and the focus of the organization.

The South Suburban Wildcats organization is the right girls program for Lincoln-Way District 210.  We strive for the best, but realize the family and school comes first.  Our programs are restricted to girls living within the Lincoln-Way District 210 residential boundaries. We have the full support of area schools and coaches.  We are and will continue to be an independent organization, knowing that staying focused on girls' basketball will allow players to benefit from the individual attention that is very important to development and understanding the game.

We offer the highest quality programs, with a cost structure that sets a new standard for travel sports.

Questions or requests for information should be directed to John Kroen at jkroen@southsuburbanwildcats.com.  Go Wildcats!!
