This year the state is requiring all participating athletes to be given and acknowledge receipt of concusion education. We did this last year, but this year it's required before any athlete takes the ice. All players attnding any South Star skate must have a completed form on file. The concussion information and forms will be available online in the near future.
The South Stars are requiring that all players have a sports physical on file this season. This must be completed before practices begin. The link to the form is here:

If this link doesn't work you can go to www.ihsaa.org and search Phyiscal Forms.

The SIYH Sharks travel hockey team will be hosting a series of conditioning and agility camps this summer. While they are intended for the Bantam travel team, this opportunity is also open for the players involved in the South Stars organization. The information is attached.
Sharks Travel Hockey Mini-camps
Sharks Travel Hockey will be holding three “mini-camps” this summer. These camps are open to all current and incoming SIYH Bantams players, as well as all incoming and current South Stars players. The camps will be run in 3 four week sessions. They are tentatively scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Perry Park Soccer field. They will run from 5:45-7:00pm. The first night of each camp will run until 7:30pm so that fitness testing can be accomplished.
Camp 1: May 7,9,11,14,16,18,21,23,25,30 and June 1
Focus will be on flexibility, core stability, and endurance training.
Camp 2: June 4,6,8,11,13,15,18,20,22,25,27 and 29
Focus will be on core stability, endurance training, and speed.
Camp 3: July 16,18,20,23,25,27,30 and August 1,3,6,8 and 10.
Focus will be on core stability, speed training and speed endurance.
The cost of the camps is $30 per 4 week session. The drop-in rate is $10 per week. The camps are limited to 20 players per session. This is to ensure that each athlete gets the attention they deserve. The first night of each camp will run from 5:45-7:30pm to allow for fitness testing. Parents will be required to fill out a medical information and liability release form before attending your first session. Because the camps are progressive in nature, players that are signed up for a session will receive priority to attend the sessions that follow. As of 4/19 we have 4 players confirmed for the first session. Spots can be reserved by contacting Mike Betz at mbetz6@sbcglobal.net . More information will be available at www.indyconditioning.com in the near future.
Hope to see you there.
