Southside Soccer Club serving recreational co-ed youth in the Pittsylvania, Halifax, Henry, Caswell Counties as well as Danville and surrounding area. We currently play on fields located at the Blairs Community Center and Southside Elementary School in Blairs, VA. We are sanctioned by Virginia Youth Soccer Association, VYSA, who provides supplemental medical insurance and liabilty insurance for all players, coaches and referees in our league.

Feb. 18-19 Referee re/certification clinic (See info below)
Feb. 25 - Live signups at All Star Sports 10AM-2PM.
Feb. 25 - Work Day - Field painting/Concession cleanup @ 9AM. Please volunteer.
Feb. 26 - Coach/Referee meeting @ 1:30 PM at Blairs
Mar. 3 - Free Coaching Clinic 8AM-12Noon @ Blairs with Mark Percario.
Mar. 3 - Last day for registrations to be considered "On Time". Live signups at Blairs 10AM-4PM
Mar. 4-10 - Late registrations with added $25 fee. No registrations accepted after this.
Mar. 9 - Coaches meeting - U4/6:00pm, U6/7:00pm, U8/8:00pm Coaches must attend
Mar. 10 - Coaches meeting - U10/9:00am, U12/10:30am, U14/1:00pm, U19/2:30pm Coaches must attend
Mar. 17 - Season begins for U10 and up.
Mar. 24 - Season begins for Mighty Mites, U6, and U8.

Follow the instructions carefully.
Grade will be "Grade 8".
State is "DC/Virginia".
Bring some note taking materials -- you need to pass the test in order to receive your badge. Please look over the online modules on the USSF web site at To find the instructional videos on the www.ussoccer.com site

- On left hand side click on “Resource Center”
- Click on “instruction”
- In the middle of page under ONLINE TRAINING – click on “Grade 8 Referee Course”
Carefully look over Laws 1, 2, 3, 4, 15, 16, 17. I will not spend much class time on these laws in order to leave more class time more time for the good stuff!! We will try to have one "on the field" module each day, so bring a pair of shoes [not just flip flops].
Lunch is from 12 -1 on both days and is "ON YOUR OWN". The Hall has only a drink machine. You are welcome to bring your own lunch. BRING A WATER BOTTLE !!!!

If you have cleats or shinguards that your children have outgrown and they are still in useable condition, consider donating them to the SSC Cleat and Shinguard bank. Children outgrow clothes so quickly and this a good way to provide for our up and coming soccer players.
