South Shore Volleyball Club: Philosophy
South Shore Volleyball Club Philosophy
The South Shore Volleyball Club, in addition to the Badger Region philosophy, is committed to helping girls improve their volleyball skills so that they may continue to participate in the sport they enjoy and have a chance to advance to higher levels of competition within the sport of volleyball.
We also want to have the girls have fun and enjoy playing volleyball. Although winning is important, improving the players skills is just as important, if not more so. We are not a win at all costs club.
The club limits its tournaments by choice. We understand that players have other things in their lives besides volleyball. The players need to enjoy doing things with their friends and family as well. To help avoid burnout, the club limits the number of times per month it plays. The costs also increase the more you play and travel. Not only are there additional tournament fees involved, parents must also pay for gas and food for other family members. for overnight or far away tournaments, hotel costs, airfare, etc. also come into play. This is an additional burden on the family that some families can't afford.
