Welcome to the online home of the South Riverdale Little League

The South Riverdale Little League is a small community based organization dedicated to making good citizens of children through the positive effect of Little League baseball. Our league subscribes to the belief that the program offers far more than simply teaching a child how to throw or catch a baseball. Incorporated as a not for profit it celebrated its Silver Anniversary as a chartered Little League in 2005. Committed to the children of the community it is our goal to provide a safe and positive recreational program for boys and girls without regard to their financial ability to participate in the program.

Registration is Now Open for the 2010 Spring Season

South Riverdale Little League, a community-based recreational youth baseball and softball league for girls and boys age 5-16, announces OPEN REGISTRATION FOR THE 2010 SEASON.  Players may register by mail or online at www.srll.org.

Registration by mail closes on January 15, 2010.

Online registration closes on January 19, 2010.

There are 6 divisions open to children based on age, skill-level and interest. All ages quoted refer to the age the child will be on April 30,2010.

T-Ball (for girls and boys): this is open to 5 year olds and first time 6 year olds. T-ball is loosely structured and not appropriate for any children who already have any significant baseball experience. No score is kept; there are no outs and each child bats every time the team is up.($120)

Pee-Wee (for girls and boys): this is open to 6 year olds, first time 7 yearolds and 8 year olds who are not yet ready for kid-pitch baseball. InPee-Wee there is a friendly adult pitching. No score is kept, but the children play regular baseball. ($125)

Minor League (for girls and boys): this is open to 8-10 year olds.  A 7 year old may be admitted on a case-by-case basis. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition. Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($130)

Softball (for girls only): this is open to girls from 8-14.   This is slow-pitch softball. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition. Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($135)

Major League (for girls and boys): this is open to 10-12 year olds. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition. The level of play is generally much higher than that in the Minors. Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($135)

Senior League (for girls and boys): this is open to 13-16 year olds. The kids pitch and play a competitive game with an emphasis on skills acquisition.  Sixteen year olds are not permitted to pitch.  Wins and losses are recorded. There will be playoffs at the end of the season. ($140)

ASSESSMENT DAYS will be held for Softball, Minors, Majors, and Seniors. All players must attend assessment day. The purpose of this day is to assess the skill level of your child for his or her safety and in an attempt to make the teams as equal as possible.

Assessment days will be:

Majors: Saturday, January 23, 2010

Softball: Saturday January 23, 2010

Minors: Saturday, January 30, 2010

Seniors: Saturday, January 30, 2010

The assessments will be held in the gym at the Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy 660 West 237th Street, Bronx, New York.  Please see the web site for the appropriate time.

Schedule The season starts in April and continues to the end of June.  A complete calendar and schedule will be available as soon as possible.   The calendar will be updated on the web site.

Uniforms Uniform information will be collected at the player assessments.

T Ball players should come to the Senior League assessment on Saturday January 30, 2010 to be fitted for a uniform.

Pee Wee players should come to the Major League assessment on Saturday January 23, 2010 to be fitted for a uniform.

The SRLL needs adult volunteers to coach in every division; umpire; maintain the fields and equipment and to perform various administrative functions.  Each player’s parent or guardian will be required to work one hour preparing the field where their child plays during the course of the season.  All volunteers must complete and return the application available on the web site.  All individuals interested in coaching in the 2010 season should contact us immediately. Register on line or download the registration and Medical forms from the web site in the Handouts Section under SRLL Forms. Please make your check payable to the SRLL and mail it along with the registration form to:
